what would you do?

I got to bed last night around 10:30 and around 2 a.m., I awoke to what I can only describe as a hot flash-- I was frantic to cool off, but the first thing I did was BBT just in case I couldn't get back to sleep-- temp was 98.6 After turning off the heat, turning on the fan and opening the window to the crisp 25 degree weather and freezing DH, I fell back asleep until 5 a.m. when I was cold and had to pee... temped to see what was up and got a 98.0 I closed the window and fell back asleep until 8 (holy canoli, DS slept 10 hours last night only the 4th time ever!!!) 8 a.m. temp was also 98.0 So anyway, I put 98 on my chart because that was a more normal waking time to temp, but should I put the 98.6 since it was the first one??? or just make a note of crazy hot flash and keep the 98? Other than during pregnancy I've never had a hot flash--- at only 28, i'm pretty sure it's not menopause (that would be the icing on the depressing cake!) anybody else get random hot flashes? could it just be a weird hormone thing??? not due for AF until fri/sat..

THANKS!!!

Huh - well that is a tough one.....I think I would hold off on an opinion until I see your temp tomorrow a.m. ......I am inclined to say take the later 8:00 a.m. temp which still is a decent one for post O and no AF but of course the higher one would be VERY exciting. Let's see what tomorrow brings :)

Good luck , Jasmine

What I would do is put the 98.0 on the chart, make a note about the progesterone-type hot flash 98.6

Thanks guys!

today's temp was 98.1, but slept with the heat off and fan on again-- just couldn't seem to get comfortable in bed... but that's a "regular" temp and time for today, so yesterday was probably a fluke...

I would be beyond elated if i got preggo this month! DH's cousin announced her pregnancy on christmas and even though i am really happy for her, it really just hurts-- i want to get over this pathetic feeling sorry for myself thing and just have another baby already :o) On the flip side, i have been enjoying DS so much- he seems to have just hit a crazy spurt of language and abilities and he is just a blast to be with~ he really is making the days go by faster!

I thank you both from the bottom of my heart for the support, well wishes and encouragement that you give me!!!

I hope we all get our baby beans this go round!!!!!! WE DESERVE IT! :o)

Oh I sooooo know what you mean. My sister's SIl just had a baby girl this a.m., my girlfriend Andrea is being induced tomorrow, and I have like 3 or 4 other acquaintances and friends due with babies in the coming months.....Please can't I join the club one more time!?!?!

I am really really enjoying the age of our boys right now too. The baby (okay he is 2 but I call him my baby!) is amazing fun right now - he was really into Christmas this year and his speech blows me away everyday -so much to say and he is getting great with all his words. I am always looking at our boys and can't believe I made such cool and interesting little guys. They fill my heart with such love and I have to remind myself to take it all in as time seems to speed up every year that passes.

Good luck to you this week - it would be an awesome start to a New Year.

Big hugs, Jasmine

yeaH! i feel like i'm surrounded by people getting preggo and having babies-- seems to come so easy.. when i get really down about it, i just remember that i am among the few that have chosen extended nursing for my family and am very fortunate that nursing came so easy for us and that i've been able to continue... it may be easier for them to get preggo, but i have a bond with DS that they'll probably never know...

OH, Jasmine, I'm going to look at your chart now! I so hope you get good news for the new year... i know i say it all the time, but you've got it coming to you-- good luck!

sending you hugs and some dust!

Karen Lynn,

I know what you're saying. Everyone at work is pregnant, or just had a baby.
But, you are so right. I have chosen extended nursing. That choice effectively means I won't have as many babies as I'd like.

Sunday,

You are so right! So many people look at me cross-eyed because I still nurse DS-- I cannot wait for the looks as he gets even older-- but they really don't know what they're missing out on. DS has been sick 3 times since he was born and has managed to make it through each illness solely on breastmilk (and mommy's energy) and recovered quickly and relatively easily! There is no value that can be put on that... and there truly aren't words for the bond!

I LOVE the things Anthony does while he's feeding... he searches for the other nipple too- it's like he wants to make sure it's there for him when he needs it (while they have traveled a little south, they aren't going anywhere anytime soon), he pushes his face waaaaayyyy in until my boob looks like a giant gum bubble around his face and then he pulls back giggling. when he's with me while I dress, he gets so happy to see the girls out in all their glory and does a little dance and points.. there's not a single nursing session that he doesn't do something that makes me either laugh or melt...

it is sad that so many children miss out on the opportunity to nurse at all and the others not to continue until they're older...

i have to say, as frustrating as this whole ttc thing is, it's worth the cost to keep this relationship with my son for as long as i can.
