Hello ladies! I don't know if you will remember me....I started posting about 2.5 years ago when we first started TTCing and then in August of 2011 we found out we have azoospermia (no sperm) due to a Y chromosome abnormality. Our RE at the time gave us 2 options....donor sperm or the possibility (but definitely not a guarantee) of finding a few sperm through testicular biopsy and then doing IVF with ICSI. 8 months later, lots of research and lots lots lots of prayer....we have chosen another option. We are adopting....but not in a traditional way.....we are adopting embryos which will be transferred into my uterus and if the Lord wills, they will grow and I will give birth to our adopted child (or children).

This is an amazing option for those that are not able to have their own biological children and may not agree with or feel comfortable with donor sperm or donor eggs. There are no guarantees of pregnancy....we have to trust in the Lord....we feel He has led us to this decision and we are so excited to love a child and become parents.

For those that may be interested....we are using a christian adoption agency called Cedar Park Embryo Adoption Services. They are located in Washington and the fees are as follows:

$250 application fee

$1400 home study fee (if you don't have a current home study)

embryo shipping fees - approx. $250-$600

$3500 matching and other service fees (they will draw up your contract with the genetic family, match you, counsel you, etc)

Then you have whatever fees may be associated with the fertility clinic that you choose to do the transfer for the medications and the transfer and monitoring appointments.

Here is a link to their website:

There are other agencies that do this as well...we chose Cedar Park.

I wish you all well on your journey to motherhood....many many blessings!!

Your Sister in Christ,

That's wonderful--embryo adoption was what we had planned had IUI not worked.

Kelly, that's so exciting! I've heard the moms on the donor board say that their adopted embryos take on some of their characteristics, so it's not all about DNA. Please keep us posted on your journey, many P&PTS coming your way.

Hi Kelly!
I'm so glad to hear news from you. I've often thought of you and wondered how you were doing. If you'd like to it would be wonderful if you stay on the board and keep us updated on your journey. Praying for a BFP for you!
