After having ds at 40 (so easy, no problems!), trying to have #2 has not been so simple. Started trying at 43, had 3 m/c's over the next year. RE said he couldn't offer me better odds that mother nature, because I didn't have a problem getting pregnant, just had old eggs and he couldn't fix that, so advised to keep trying on my own. I tried to view my m/cs as validation that my body was still working, rather than failures of old age, and that with patience the "right egg" would come along. Finally looks like it has, am 22 weeks, amnio and level 2 us fine, and praying this is the one! (am 46 now). If you want it badly enough, keep trying because you never know when it will work out (and if you don't try, for sure it won't happen)!! HTH Janice

Yay for Janice! That's really encouraging to know...

I'm feeling pretty discouraged right about now. I'm almost 45, last month was a wash 'cause both DH and I got the flu and missed that cycle. This month started out promising but a HSG shows that my one fallopian tube (which has always been a little crimped) looks like it may be completely blocked now. :-( AND, I have a UTI right now -- which is the best time to BD -- so this month most likely is shot too.

And the thing is, it's difficult to just LIVE when you're living to conceive. We can't plan long-term vacations 'cause I don't want to be overseas or on a plane if by chance I get pregnant etc.

Anyhow, so this was the perfect time to read Janice's good news!

Hi! Thanks for your good wishes! Things are going well with pg, edd in 10 days, baby nice and active. I wish my 6 y/o DS was doing as well, he's recovering from strep throat and ear infections, and also have a furbaby who's intestinal cancer is progressing...Why is it that the best things in life seem to always get caught up with unpleasant realities? Oh well, guess nothing is ever perfect, and hope to have good baby news soon. Janice
