Well, don't throw in the towel yet. Because I also had ovulation type pains this month (don't remember ever getting them before) I did som research on it. I found out that the pains can come before, during or AFTER ovulation, and aren't a reliable indicator of when it took place, just that it did. So don't put too much stock in that, your temp, CM and the OPKs are MUCH more reliable. (((Hugs)))

I'm not, it's my temps that are troublesome to me.

I hear you on that one Susan, frustrating when that happens. I am not sure about this cycle yet, I was originally thinking we were going to miss it entirely because of DH being away, but since it looks like I ovulated early then there is still a chance. Time will tell for sure!

Love_me, I am sorry for your frustration, I think the earliest I have tested has been 3 days early, and that was only one time. I just can't handle seeing those negatives all the time, but that is just me, everyone is different. I must admit though that hearing you test so much has made me really want to, and I know I shouldn't until later next week! Argh!

Michelle, I don't think I'm truly going to know until I see how long my LP is :(

thanks for the encouragement, you guys. well, my temp plummeted this AM and I started spotting, so, I'm pretty sure I'm out this month.

I am 41 years old, and am TTC baby #1. I'm only going on my 4th cycle of TTC. The women in my family all brag about how fertile they are, and how they just "look at their H's and conceive," blah blah blah...so I just figured I'd fall into line. Hmph.

I was on the pill for many years and got off of it 3 cycles ago. I only started seriously charting this cycle, and have a feeling before this cycle which seemed normal, except for very little EWCM) my LP phase wasn't even long enough before this cycle. I also think my CM and O day were totally out of synch.

I don't feel totally discouraged, just anxious. As many of us over 40 are, I fear that if/when I do conceive, I will have to worry about MCs, Down's, and all the other risks...

Trying to stay positive, but I have this nagging fear I'm in for a long haul. Not a good state of mind to get into!!!

My GYN said if I'm not PG by the end of the summer, then we will begin the "poking and prodding" part.

So that's my story.

I hope you guys have BFPs SOON. I know you are discouraged, Susan, but hey you never know!!!
xo

Hi loves_me,

I turned 42 in April. I've been TTCing #1 since 3/09. I did manage to get pregnant on cycle 5 but it ended in m/c. I did my 1st IUI this April, got pregnant again, but ended in another m/c. Each month that ends in a BFN is really hard. DH and I don't plan to do or want (couldn't afford!) IVF, so we'll probably do 1 or 2 more IUI's, or just on our own and see what happens. I've had most of the testing done and it appears that I have "diminished ovarian reserve" or "old eggs" as I call it! Since there's not much I can do about that now, I just keep hoping we'll get lucky!!! FX'd!!

((((Hugs)))) to both Alex and loves me. I know it is so hard to wait for that elusive sticky BFP. Especially when it is your first child. We waited many years for our first, but without the added stress of being over 40, that must make it extra difficult to get through. Hang in there, we are all rooting for you.

hi, loves me,
I would start the testing (FSH and AMH levels) sooner rather than later. Then, you know where you stand. Each step can take a month or so, plus setting up the appointments, and before you know it, two years have gone by... - martha
