2nd Beta in - CONCERNED

Hi guys,

So a few days ago when I was in PARIS of all places, I peed and saw blood. It freaked me out. There was a small clot too. It was just that one isolated incident and then I spotted very scan brown for a couple days after that. When I returned, I reported it to my Dr. and immediately went in for Beta 2.

BETA #2 came in, and my Dr ordered my U/S a week early. She claims my Beta number is on the low side, as it is supposed to double every 48 hours...and she said witht he spotting, it is inconclusive till I get the U/S. But based on that 48 hours/doubling math, it seems like it's within normal ranges. Is it low??

Beta 1 (at 16DPO) = 138

Beta 2 (at 28DPO) = 1559

I'm sorry hon. Your numbers aren't doubling every 48 hours though.

16 dpo they were 138

18 dpo they should have been close to or above 280

20 dpo they should have been close to or above 560

22 dpo they should have been close to or above 1120

24 dpo they should have been close to or above 2240

26 dpo they should have been close to or above 4480

28 dpo they should have been close to or above 8960

Thanks you guys for the replies and support. I finally spoke with the Dr and she informed that the betas weren't getting as high as she wanted, and that there is a chance I could miscarry. And then she explained what happens with a miscarriage. The weekend is upon me and I am now so very frightened of what could come. I am afraid of the amount of blood that could appear, and the pain and the sense of loss. I just hate this waiting. It is awful.

I am so sorry you are having to worry about this. Your number is on the low side but that doesn't mean that it will end bad. Some people have slow rising numbers and everything works out fine. For some it doesn't though. I was one of those unfortunate ones (I've lost 2)

You are around 6 weeks, right? Chances are that it will only be like a heavy period with

Thanks Vickie. I'm so sorry you lost 2. It is a very difficult situation that not enough people out there don't talk openly about enough.

Well, so far nothing eventful has happened. I have this weird dark brown/black bits of blood once or twice a day when I pee but that is it. The Dr. told me that is old blood that is most likely from last Saturday's bleed.

I am praying that all will be ok. Did your PG symptoms disappear before your had your MC? I am still craving milk, legumes, and have sore boobs. I don't know if there is anything hopeful in that or not.

Did you have that brown/black blood first befor eyou miscarried? Did your PG symptoms go away before it happened?

Thank you for everything.

Thanks babydreamer! Well, so far nothing eventful has happened. The bleeding seems to have stopped, and I have no pain or cramps. Just regular early PG symtpoms (cravings, fatigue, bloating)....

I have been TTC for 10 months. I was JUST about to go in for my first IVF in February due to my age (41.5) and being unable to conceive naturally, and of course the last month, my last chance before IVF, I got PG naturally!!!! I was on the board from last March up until the late fall, when I decided to take time to regroup before IVF.

I am praying it is all OK and that this will just WORK. Ugh the waiting is so hard. Thanks for your warm wishes and thoughts. :)

Susan, your post warmed my heart. Thank you for thinking of me. It is nice to know there are others out there that can relate and/or empathize, as we usually have to keep it a secret this early in the game. So thank you so much. :)
