Already a mom - but TTC #2

Hi Ladies,
I'm new here and love that I found you all. Been reading a lot of posts and already feel encouraged. I am going on 42 and hubby and I have been TTC for over two years. My first was born three years ago next week and he was conceived the first time we tried. Now, after all this time, seems like that never happened and it was all just the stork.
I had a BFP back in October of '08, but miscarried at 8 weeks, had a D&C, then several bouts of long sinus infections that kept me very sick for months, and then had back surgery in May of '09, which despite the doctors promise of quick recovery, required 10 months of follow up, strong pain medication and physical therapy. Obviously lots of obstacles to getting it on, let alone getting another BFP.
We have been consistently trying for 7 months now, and I have been on natural progesterone for 5 of those months to try to balance my hormones naturally. My holistic doc says I have high cortisol and my Prog/estrogen ratio is way off. Which pretty much means I'm stressed out. Bust into tears every time I get my period.
Anyway, hubby and I are struggling with keeping the flame alive - seems so mechanical now. Well, I'm wondering what you gals may suggest to spice it up a bit. How do you forget that the deed has a purpose and try to make it fun again?
I recently bought a couple products from early-pregnancy-tests.com. One is called Pre-seed, which is a TTC safe lubricant, the other is FertileCM to improve the quality of CM (which is pretty much non-existent in me!)
Does anyone have any experience with these products? Any success stories or advice against them?

Hi & Welcome!
It's a fun board full of interesting women with diverse stories. A good place for advice and especially...perspective and camaraderie. Jump right in!
Sounds like you have had a rough start for sure. Have you considered acupuncture as well? If it is available to you it can be a very helpful way to naturally balance hormones. I love Acu (but not everybody does ;)
Lots of us use preseed, me included. I think some here have used fertilecm as well. My acupuncturist and RE both highly recommend triple royal jelly for cm. I used to use EPO (evening primrose oil pills) for CM, btu TRJ (1000mg 2x per day) has made a

Thanks gals,
What a warm welcome and good feeling to have support. Good to know that Pre-seed is a common ally. I received my package yesterday and we'll be seeing if it works soon. I'm day 6 of my cycle, so about a week away from the big "O". I may take your advice and give it a whirl even before. Might even inject a little excitement...
I have my first appointment with an RE next week. Any suggestions on questions to ask? Should I bring DH with me? DH is much younger than me (by 10 years) so he's a little lost in all this fertility stuff. He didn't realize that we were going to be facing this kind of thing when we got married and I was already 37. I'm thinking it would be good for him to hear advice and a reality check straight up from the doctor, but am not sure if that will just add to the pressure of the situation. Any thoughts?
I'm going to ask the doc next week what the current theory is about frequency of the deed during fertile times. I've seen both every day and every other day as a rule. We've gone with every day most months, but obviously is not working. Any advice here?
Sending peace to you all...
