CD3-7 or 5-9?

hi, all,
I have some random clomid and am thinking of just taking it for the heck of it this month. (oh, I got my period after 2.5 months !!! finally!!) I figure, what do I have to lose! I'm just hanging out for 3-4 months waiting until my donor egg program starts.

Anyway, I was wondering what protocol people have used. I did CD 5-9 three times and it didn't work. Thinking of trying the CD 3-7, but wondering if that works at all for women over 40.

thanks for your help!

best,
Martha

wow, Kristi, you're way ahead of me... Shady Grove? Do they have a date range for you yet? I'm stuck waiting....

well! I think it's working.... pangs and twitches.... Temps went up, but I think that is normal. I bought an OPK and will just throw hope at the wind this coming weekend or so.

The recent discussion of clomid on the board was interesting. Maybe it isn't good to dump the egg basket all at once given that it takes 3 months to grow them....

Part of my problem is all of this waiting. I just can't stop ttc during this 4 month lull.... It feels better having something to hope for -- even if it is hope based on a .5% chance of success. I am very hopeful for the DE, but I just have to wait.

Does Shady Grove do weekend appointments? Are you flying to Baltimore or driving? I think 4 more months of waiting will just drive me bonkers. Maybe I should just fly to Baltimore as well.

thanks for the email :-)

you're lucky. from what I gather, they are one of the best places in the country....

I read about your trouble with the DE database on the other board.... I'm sort of glad my doctor just picks for me. brown hair, caucasian. how hard could it be!

Hey Kristy,
We must be neighbors if you're close to Shady Grove. I'm in Northern Virginia, and I have my first appt at Shady Grove Fairfax set up for Sept 16. Didn't realize they are so well known.

I've only been twice to my current RE - still just getting started with ART - but she works alone and doesn't even have a nurse on staff, so I'm skeptical about how well she'll be handling my case.

She has also already told me she's not a fan of the Clomid or Femara route, so I set up the appt at Shady Grove as a second opinion, just in case I don't like what I hear over the next month or so.
