clomid help, please!

hi, all,

well, AF came the day before thanksgiving! woo hoo!

I'm venturing into the great world of chemically assisted ttcing.... I was supposed to go for my CD3 tests this month, then start clomid on day 5. When I got an USound, the tech was telling me all of this stuff about triggers and tests, but I was looking at the screen!

Anyway, as AF came the day before thanksgiving and CD 3 is on Friday, I called my OB/GYN's office and they said that they were closed (!). They made an appt for the tests at this local hospital and called in the clomid prescription for me...

So.. now... I didn't have the official visit with the nurse/DR et. al to explain it all. Could you ladies please help me? Do I need to schedule a CD10 visit? I start the clomid on day 5? Are there any other words of wisdom?

and, happy turkey day to you all...

Hi Martha, it is so frustrating when things happen on holidays! When I was on clomid I have a very relaxed doctor when it comes to testing and triggers and all of that, so I am not much help on that side of things. If they are planning to do the trigger shot with you, then I would recommend that you go in and talk to them to find out more. Clomid is usually taken starting on either day 3 or day 5, just depends on the doctor. Mine said to start on day 5. Not sure I have been much help, but I certainly hope it all goes well for you!

Does that pharmacy had an emergency number? If so, call it and explain that they are holding a prescription for you that you NEED.

I guess I"m a little late on the "help". YOu've got your CD3 test done and they'll send the results to your MD. Yes you may also need CD10 testing. Give a call ASAP to your doctor's office. Yes clomid is usually days 3-7 or 5-9 but hey maybe days 6-10 will still work. Just give it a try and see what happens. Then find a pharmacy that's open 7 days a week and tell them to send any further prescriptions there.

I guess I am just so lucky that my RE's office is open 365 days a year. We had our ET on Thanksgiving morning and they couldn't have been nicer about being there for us. I told the embryologist that not all RE offices are so accommodating and her reply was - that's my job.

Good luck and KUP.

That is too bad about the prescription, but I do agree with Susan that you should either call the pharmacy or the doctor, one of them should be able to help you. Just relax and take a deep breath, it will all work one somehow. (((Hugs)))
