lurking - as usual here since I'm almost 49. Alexander was conceivd 4 months after my

42nd birthday - during our honeymoon. Completely naturally. And he was born 9 months

late when I was 43. So it IS possible. Good luck to you!

GL with your TTC. There are many, many success stories on the Preg over 40 message board. Many natural.

DOES ANYONE KNOW THE NAME OF THE SITE WHERE EVERYONE WHO USED TO POST ON THIS SITE MOVED TO EARLIER THIS YEAR? Fiddlemommy and the others? I have lost the address. Thanks!

Were you using a fertility monitor while you were trying?

I had my first child at 24 years old. He was a surprise to my husband and I and despite the pregnancy being a hard one with morning, noon and nighttime sickness for 6 months, we gave birth to a healthy baby boy. He is now 19 yrs. old and off to college. Through the years I was apprehensive about conceiving again- the experience scared me a bit, none the less we went unprotected many times hoping to give Ryan a sibling. After 18 years, conception never happened, so we decided one of us was infertile and that was just the way it was suppose to be. I am now 44 years old and found out I am having a baby girl at the beginning of March. There was nothing artificial about this pregnancy. But one thing I can say is 4 months prior to conception, my husband and I began taking 400 mcg folic acid with a high dose of B-12 to prevent clogging of the arteries. Our neighbor, a researcher recommended it. When being interviewed by the OB/GYN, she asked us if we were taking B-12 lately and my husband and I just looked at each other.

Well I did it..at 44..my current husband had no children and always had wanted kids..I told him he gets one and one only..smile..I already had 3 boys the youngest being 11 and the oldest being 28..Its been a great experience actually..The pregnancy went fine..I was a bit more tired than with previous pregnancy but I handled it..I worked as well all the way up to delivery time..which did come about 3 weeks early..They wanted me to have amnio and I opted not to..I had had a miscarriage the year before and there was a risk with that..and the ultrasound looked good..no indicators so I went without it..I have a beautiful 4th boy now and its been wonderful having a child at this age..Your patience level is different and you can actually enjoy watching them grow..he is two now and its been great fun..I even have 3 grandsons too..who are all older than my baby..my sister in law who is 43 is trying to concieve now..so I say go for it..you wont be sorry..

You mentioned folic acid 400 and B12.

What was the high dosage of B12 you and husband were taking?

I will turn 41 in February of 2004 and we have tried without success for the last 2 years to conceive. We've tried clomid for 2 cycles with no positive results. I am in the process of starting the clomid again. Any suggestions?

congrads with your success, I will be trying to conceive, My husband is scheduled to have a vas reversal in Feb. We have 2 grown kids and 3 grand children. I was pregnant about 9 years ago, my son had downs and I miscarried. Without understanding everything my husband got a vas. so we wouldn't go through the pain again. Well time has healed I guess old age, and I even in the middle of a job change and in school to become a special education teacher. So hoping the reversal will be a success.
