Day 36....BFN!

Hi all,

I am on Cycle Day 36 and took a HPT this morning.... BFN! ARGH! Usually my cycle days are 31 or 32, but for some reason, the last few months they have been getting longer. Does this mean anything??

Also, I have read a few posts where women are using progesterone cream. What is this and where do you get it? I do take progesterone suppositories after ovulation (3 times a day for 14 days), but do women also use a cream?

Thank you! And Baby Dust to all!

Have you been under much stress the past few months? Stress has been known to delay ovulation thereby extending your cycle. You can monitor the time when you ovulate by taking opk's (ovulation predictor kits).

Also, sometimes women get pg and miscarry thereby extending their periods. Have you ever gotten a faint + HPT at around dpo=18 (days past ovulation) or before in the past few months?

My cycles were also getting irregular recently (42 yo). I got my FSH checked to calm me down. My OB reassured me that the older we get, the more irregular we get and it doesn't mean that we cannot conceive. She said that as long as we are ovulating and our hormones (including progesterone, check with a day 21 or 23 blood test I believe) are normal (tubes aren't blocked, etc), we have a great chance of getting pg.

I don't know anything about the progesterone cream.

Sorry to spell out the abbreviations if you already know what the stand for.

Take care,

Thank you for your response, Barbara.

Stress?? Well, other than TTC for 2 years, and a job that is fairly stressful.... I guess I have been a bit stressed lately. :)

I use the Clear Blue Fertility Monitor and it gave me peak days on 19 and 20, so I guess it would be fitting to be this late. Usually, though, when I peak day 19/20, my period shows up on day 32.

And, low and behold, I just checked and AF has arrived! Funny how she always seems to show up the day after I take a HPT.

I have never gotten a faint line, so I don't believe that I have miscarried lately (I did a year and a half ago, but don't think I have since).

Now that AF is here, I will be scheduling my HSG (?) to make sure the tubes aren't blocked. Last FSH I had was 8.78, much higher than a year ago when it was 5.7 (which makes me nervous). And Estradiol is now 66 when it was just 35 last year. Yikes. Time surely does make a huge difference....

Take care, and thank you again so much for the response. It really helps to have people to talk to about this as I hate to load all of this on my DH.

Best wishes,
