Delurking with a question

Hi ladies,

I'm 42 and had my 1st child a year ago. We're currently TTCing #2 and have been for 6 months. We've been very optimistic that we could have anther one if we can make it happen sooner rather than later. I get down on CDs 1 & 2, but then I get optimistic for the next month again after that.

Ok, here's my question/situation. I'm on CD 11 and have started to bleed. I don't know what to think - Is aunt flo really early this month for some reason? I there a problem? Or is there some other reason this could be happening? I was getting excited because I should be Oing in a few days and now this. Has anyone experienced this before or heard of this? I'm not worried yet, just confused and really disappointed that we won't be trying this month. Oh, I should also mention that I'm still BFing and I may be perimenopausal (sp?) because the hot flashes I had when PG haven't stopped.

TIA!

Hi, Anne, I too had two very short cycles in the past year (one was 14 days and one was 17 days). Ohterwise, they were regular. I assumed the 2 short cycles were anovulatory, but I don't know for sure. I also assumed I was perimenopausal (I am almost 45) but I am currently 8 weeks pregnant. In perimenopause women still ovulate, albeit less frequently and maybe with less quality eggs. But it can certainly happen and I am living proof!

Baby dust and best wishes....

I'm not sure about the short cycle, which by now you probably have a better idea, but I know my nurse told me my chances were better getting pg when I stopped nursing completely. I tried for 4 months when I cut down and af showed up, and now 4 months without nursing. I am 40.
