Thanks Pix! BABY DUST to you too!!! So excited about your IUI plan. :)

Susan, I called Dr. David's office a couple weeks ago and the soonest they could get me in was October! Long waiting list--just an FYI. But you won't need to see him because you are making babies as I type this very message. :) XO!

Sounds like a plan, Dianne! Let me know how things go with Sami David (the "Making Babies" RE). I'm very curious about him and might consider trying him if (GOD FORBID) IVF #3 doesn't work. He seems confident that he can help women get PG without extreme measures -- not sure how he does it.

Thanks for all your replies you guys!!
I have been thinking about the 42 age issue - glad you brought that up, Martha.

I am going to take all of your advice and feedback, literally! Susan, we are gonna do the couple-month thing with our homework, Krista, DH is going to buy the fertility supps today (we were just talking about that!! :)), and of course the no alcohol and all.

I even made an appt in Oct for the Dr that is the author of Making Babies. He is here in NY.

And if all else fails, I think by October/November we will begin IVF.
I just feel like we need to do just a couple things on our own first, and see, without wasting toooo much time. Just one or 2 cycles.

Scary...Thanks you guys. xoxo I especially appreciate all your feedback about IVF. It is just so foreign to me and I reeeally like hearing your firsthand experiences!!!

Hi Dianne. You might get DH to try some fertile aid (for men) vitamins. There are also chinese herbs out there that are supposed to help with sperm morphologu (don't know off the top of my head) but it might be a simple, non invasive and not expensive thing you can add.

Dianne, I am so sorry this has been stressful for you. As someone who has been there, done that, I will say this -- once things sink in, you realize you can handle more than you thought. Honestly, I *never* imagined I would try IVF once, much less three times. I just kept drawing lines in the sand and jumping over them.

So my advice: try naturally for a couple more months. Hopefully you will get pregnant. If not, take a deep look inside and see if a baby is really what you want. If it is: I'd say go for it by any means necessary. (As I've said before, the IVF stuff isn't bad at all, aside from the two-week wait and, um, if it doesn't work.)

Hang in there. (((HUGS)))

I have two dogs that I got last year.... didn't work!

From 41 to 42 is a big change in chances for IVF. Infertility happens like a cascading waterfall, not a slow moving stream. By the time you hit 42, chances for success dip below 10%.

You can do this!

Well as you yourself said, you might still be able to, and she did give you some homework (quitting the herbs and alcohol), so that you could try.

I know you were just being facetious but agree with Susan, pets won't stop the urge. Literally DH tried that two years ago and got me a puppy, whom I adore...but it didn't stop my wanting a baby...just quieted it for a while I guess.
