Lurker here...and I am not actively TTC at this point, but I just started charting my temps so I could determine my most fertile days for when we are ready to TTC, probably in a few months time.

Anyway..I read the Taking Charge of Your Fertility book and using the info from it, conceived my first son the first month we tried.

What I have learned is that the temperature shift actually occurs just after you have ovulated, so it may be a bit late after you have seen the shift. Technically, your most fertile day is the last day of eggwhite cervical soon as ovulation takes place, the mucus sorta dries up, and the temp goes up, but by that time the egg may be gone. So, the first time, I charted for a few months to find my pattern within my cycle. I could see about when the temp shift happened each month and I also charted my cervical fluid to find my most fertile days. Hopefully it will work again when we are ready!

Best of luck to you! I recommend that book if you want to is great! It is by Toni Weschler (i think that is how you spell it!)

Several of my friends highly recommend "Taking Charge of your Fertility'.

When I asked my RE about whether I should chart or not, he said not to..

With the HCG shot, it makes you ovulate I understand. In addition, my cycles have been irregular for quite awhile, so even the ovulation calculators don't work for me.
