well, the donor coordinator for my clinic called today and they have a possible donor! scary! I'm sort of freaking out... what about my clomid experiment?

I'm really freaked out right now, but excited in a way. If we pick her, any idea as to how long it would be before they do the transfer????

OMG ! I might be going in for a DE transfer in the next three months ?!@!@?!

martha

Martha,

You are fortunate that your insurance covers all but the DE fee.

My RE hasn't mentioned anything about a "shared risk" program. I think that might be unique to Shady Grove.

I live in Illinois, and they passed some sort of law regarding mandatory infertility coverage at some point. IVF and DE coverage is in there. Yeah, current prisoner/former governor Ryan! Yeah, soon-to-be prisoner Blago! Whichever crook did it, I am eternally grateful. If any of you really want to do donor eggs, and money is an issue, maybe you could move to a state that requires coverage for it?

The testing can be really DAUNTING! If any ladies out there are at all contemplating doing DE cycle in the near future -- even if it is just a remote dream -- I advise you do get a couple of things done. 1. physical 2. lipid panel (cholesterol check, etc.) 3. mammogram 4. Pap smear. There are other tests, but with those in place it will go a lot faster.

This woman has donated successfully before. So, I am hopeful. And, if we go 1:1, we hopefully will have backup embryos in case the first time doesn't stick.

The only missing piece of the puzzle is the circumstances of her sister's death. She listed "seizures at 28." Just concerned about what caused them, etc..... Other than that, we're ready to sign on the dotted line and get going before Christmas!!

thanks for your support,
Martha

what, what!? What kind of documents did you have drawn up? Did your RE set this up for you or did you do it on your own? You never met the donor, right? So, how did you get her to sign the documents?? What were they called?

uh oh!

thanks for the info!

thanks, Ruth. We're dealing with the different laws of 2 states as well, so this could certainly be relevant.
