FSH Results - Not Good.

My RE just called me to tell me my Fsh results are now: 14.5

I am devastated. She said to wait till next month to see if my dh testoserone level normalize ( he was given Clomid last week)and then in june I can have another fsh test in hopes that my #'s improve and then she can do another IUI. My numbers went from 4.9 to 14.5 in 8 months. Not the news I wanted to hear as mother's day & my birthday approach in May.

The Dr. said to continue living normal lives and still ttc naturally- not to stop beacuse levels do change from month to month. So i guess that's what we will do. I had a feeling that my numbers would shift but not like this...Crying as I'm typing and hoping for better news by june.

Thanks Georgie,

I just heard a naturalist highly recommend wheat grass for balancing/ lowering FSH levels too. I am definitely visiting farmers market this week.

Thanks again,

Please don't place too much stock on your FSH level. I got tested in June last year and mine was 13. I was just shy of 41 at the time. Well, in March I gave birth to a very healthy baby girl. The doctors were all doom and gloom about the FSH level result, but after reading a lot of information about it, I decided that it really isn't a definitive fertility gage. I got pregnant the old fashioned way the month after the FSH test. The only thing I changed was taking a shot of wheatgrass every morning that month as I read somewhere it helps lower the FSH...All the other tests they did on me came back normal and I was ovulating every month.
GOOD LUCK!!
Georgie
ps I got the wheatgrass from Whole Foods it was in the frozen section

Thank you so much Ann. I am so sorry for your loss and hope you are doing better.
I'm actually going to look into acupuncture. It's just a bit hard for me financially now. I heard it's very effective though. I even caught a bit yesterday on The Doctor's Show on Cbs and the RE highly recommended it.

Yes, hope we get our bfp real soon!

All the best,

Hi Wannabe -

Jumping over from the TTCAM board - I'm so sorry that your numbers upset you so much. I just got my FSH results last week and know what you are talking about - you feel very deflated and broken. Mine were CD3 11.8 and CD10 19! Holy cow - 19... I'm going to meet with an RE since DH and I just started TTC in Nov '09 and got a BFP right out of the gate only to m/c in January '10. I'm 40 (going to be 41 in Sept) and DH is 46... In addition to the RE, I'm actually going to try acupunture - I've read some really great things about it lower FSH - would that be an option for you perhaps? Will also look into the herbs that were recommended to you in this post.

Sending you lots of positive thoughts and baby dust that these drs. don't know what they are talking about and we both get a BFP soon!

Ann
