Hi Ladies,

I was just wondering if anyone has taken Gonal-F injections. I have 4 very early m/c and a stillbirth at 20.5 weeks. I have been on 50mg of Clomid with IUI's. Having no luck so am moving on to injections. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I am in almost the same situation. I have had 2 early m/c's and a stillborn son at 18 weeks. I was on Tamoxifen and IUI when I concieved my son. I go back to my RE tomorrow to see what he wants to do now. Before he had told me that he wanted to try 3 cycles of Tamoxifen with IUI and then if that didn't work move on to injections. But I got PG the first IUI with Tamoxifen. I am more than a little nervous about the injections. I would love to have a TTC buddy if you are intrested.

Paula,

I'd love to be your TTC buddy! It definitely helps to have someone to talk to about it. What does Tamoxifen do for TTC? I thoought that was only used for breast cancer reoccurance. (My mother takes it). Did your doctors determine why you had your son stillborn at 18 weeks? Mine was due to MTHFR. I currently take 4mg folic acid, a baby asprin, a pre-natal multi-V, and a super-B complex daily. I just started today on my first injection of Gonal-F. We'll see if this helps TTC.

Also, next Monday I am going to try acupuncture to help stimulate the flow of blood to my uterus. I have never tried acupuncture before! Wish me luck.

Maria,

My RE said there are studies that Tamoxifen stimulates ovulation, even though the most common use is for breast cancer. They did path. tests on Joseph to see if there were any chromo. defects as to the casue of his death, but they all came back negitive. They found no reason why he died.

I am sorry about your loss, may I ask what is MTHFR?

I have an appoitment with my RE this afternoon. I am nervous as to what he will have to say. I am on CD6. I only take a prenatal vitiam. I was on them plus a supplement of Folic acid but was told that was too much folic acid. I heard about taking baby asprin but am not sure what it does for you? How was your first shot? Did you give it to yourself? What is your CD? Tell me more about you?

Here I am: 43 and DH is 36. I have 4 DD's ages 28, 26, 24 and 15. My dh has none. We have been TTC for over 2 years now. With 3 losses. The first 2 were early @ 8weeks and both were concieved naturaly, the last was Joseph.

Hi Paula,

I am 39 and DH is 41. We have been married 9 1/2 years today. We have been TTC for 3 years. We have no children only two felines, Isabella and Lilly.

MTHFR is methylene tetrahydro folate reductase, which is a genetic defect that basically results in low levels of folic acid in my body. This leads to increased clotting in the placenta which can cause the death of the fetus. The "cure" is taking at least 4mg of folic acid a day for the rest of my life. My high-risk OB, that found my MTHFR condition, told me you can not "OD" on folic acid and that she has many patients that take 8mg of folic acid. She also told me to start taking a baby aspirin a day because it also helps thin the blood.

I am also on CD6. I have given myself two injections of Gonal-F, it was'nt that bad. It's a small needle and you only put it under the skin on my thigh not in the muscle.

I work full time as a hairstylist in West Bloomfield, Michigan.
