My story- when I was in my early 20's I knew I would have trouble conceiving (all through teen did not use BC because I was not cycling and ovulating) so I went to an RE (Dr. Sami David). He put me on Clomid, ran tests etc; and I began charting. 9 months later no pregnancy. I started going to a very good Chinese doctor and after 2 months on herbs and acupuncture I got pregnant with twins!
I went on to have a very healthy pregnancy and delivered then at home in water full term both weighed 7.6 and 7.8 pounds.
I kept up with herbs and acupuncture and then stopped. When they were 3 years old I conceived and had a blighted ovum. Went back on fertility drugs.......injectables.........after a year no pregnancy.

Went to another LAc (by this time we were not living in NY anymore so I went to Bob Flaws in Co)
the result was a pregnancy on the first try and another healthy baby 9 months later.

Next 2 pregnancies- was seeing my herbalist/Lac (again in another state) just for health maintenance once per week and using herbs. Again the result was 2 more pregnancies on the first try (I was not trying, my ovulation just happened to come back each time after same number of years nursing each child).

Am now 44 and am seeing another LAc who specializes in fertility so I can get my body ready to TTC.

All I can say is for me it worked. I hope it works again.

44- 5 children already- TTC number 6!

Hi Terri,
I've been going to ACU since May 2010. I wanted to go to regulate my cycles as I had just gotten off BC pills. My ACU put me on chinese herbs in addition to the weekly treatments.

My cycles have been regular and my PMS each cycle has decreased significantly! I went from being bloated, queasy, exhausted, sore boobs, crampy, emotional, the whole 9 yards.

Each month of ACU, more PMS symptoms fall away. This last cycle, virtually EVERY one of my PMS symptoms has disappeared (!!), except for a bit of teariness, which I have had my whole life -- he has assured me this will also go away. I still cannot believe I had no sore boobs or exhaustion like I have had every month since I was 13 (minus my years on the pill, when I had no PMS at all).

I am still TTC but I can say the ACU has helped me with cycle regulation and MAJOR relaxation. I feel amazing and calm the day of the sessions. I wish I could go more than once a week!

The way I see it is, it makes one fully relaxed, and supports all fertility treatments, so if you have a qualified ACU practitioner, it certainly cannot hurt. The sense of well-being I have felt after sessions is incomparable. So for that, I recommend it, especially if your insurance covers it.

Good luck. :)
