Hello,my name is Dianne.I am 42 years young, and i am married To Edward who is 29.For the last 5 years,we have been trying to have a baby with no luck. And its heartbreaking, yet very frustrating.I dont know what else to do.I am embarrassed to ask,but what exactly does an RE do?I dont have any women friends i can ask.Everybody in my family thinks i am crazy for wanting to have babies at my age.Excuse me,but i may be 42 years young...but i am not ready for a convalescent home neither.I personally dont think its any business of my family.Any advice would be lovely.

I have been seeing an RE since I was 38 - I'm 42 now. Basically they test you and your husband for infertility factors. I remember having numberous viles of blood taken and through the years I've had several HSGs (they inject dye into your cervix/uterus/fallopian tubes), and laproscopic surgery to remove scars. An RE determines how they can help you conceive and/or fix any issues you may have. We had great luck, after 2 m/c's and one fatal amnio diagnosis, I had a happy healthy little boy at the age of 40.5 :) Trying for number two now, after one m/c this summer.

The fact of the matter is, we are older, and it is a little more difficult, though not impossible, to get pregnant at this age. This month, after two failed clomid/gonal-f/IUI cycles, we are trying injectibles and IUI. Hopefully, it will work.

Good luck to you! I know I posted a lot of acronyms - hope you can decifer it all :)

Hello dianne,
My name is Brenda and I don't think you are crazy wanting to have a baby at your age ,because I too am 42 and trying to start over. I remarried a man from Morocco, his name is Adnane and he is to be soon to be 37. I had a tubal reversal done the end of September and just starting trying to get pregnant. I am new to this web site and not sure how I can find some answers to some questions I have would you be able to guide me in any direction? Thank you and hang in there and don't stop trying, one day GOD will let you conceive and bring a new life into the world.
