I Love my new DR.

Hi everyone. For those that don't know, I have had a rough time with drs. They won't do any testing or if they do they won't do anything about the results. Anyway, I found a general practice doctor that would see me and I absolutely love the whole staff.

I had bloodwork done and he listened to me completely and talked in terms that anyone could understand. He looked at a thyroid lab result that I had done in late Nov. (one that my ob said was normal) and said I am hypothyroid. He gave me a script for levothyroxin.

I am not thrilled that I have something wrong with me but to have an answer is a blessing. To know that a dr wouldn't do anything about it and

That is a blessing to know what is going on, although I'm sorry about your thyroid.

Hey. Yeah, I started the medication 3 days ago. He told me I should start feeling better in about 2 weeks. It may be all in my head but I seem to not tire as easy already. He said if this dose is enough I should be back to normal in a month. I go back the 15th for another blood draw to see if my dosage needs changing.

I was diagnosed as hypo and the symptoms are fatigue, dry skin, dry mouth, constipation, slow metabolism, weight gain, brittle nails, hair loss, irregular menstrual cycles,

Vickie,

So happy you found a good Doc....I have hypothroidism too, been on synthroid for 19 years.

I did have four babies and a number of pregnancies, which ended in mc,

I'm on synthroid too. My doc said my numbers are fairly good but for TTC she likes to get it down to a more narrow number. (I don't know my numbers though.) I *think* having been on synthroid has made my metabolism a little faster. I don't feel like I gain quite as fast now that it has been adjusted.
