IUI Question
Mon, 03-14-2005 - 8:57am

I am planning on having an IUI in May. My DH and I have saved up enough for 4 attempts. Does anyone know if there are higher sucess rates if you do your cycles back to back or if you space them out with a month or two in between?

Hi Jessica,

I've had 3 iui's. The first was "successful", but sadly, I had a blighted ovum and miscarriage. The 2nd iui gave me my almost 3 year old daughter, Alicia Rose. The 3rd iui failed. The specialist I use requires one month between attempts because he says it's important for your body to return to "normal". If your IUI is not medicated, then back to back is probably fine. All my IUI's are with Clomid and hormone injections. I'm waiting for new blood test results and then I plan on trying IUI #4.

I don't know about the success rate back to back vs one month lag.

Good luck!
