Hey, gang -- I'm trying IVF again. I didn't post during our first try and we weren't successful, so I'm counting on the positive energy of this board to help with this go-'round!

There's been a bit of a hiccup. I was supposed to start the estrogen priming protocol tomorrow (CD 21). However, AF had other ideas and showed up today. What the what?!? And get this: my RE's lab is shutting down for a month for its biannual maintenance, meaning we wouldn't be able to try again until July (an eternity!).

The good news: the doc is going to try a different but similarly aggressive protocol that will take less time, so we can start this week as planned. I'll find out the details tomorrow when I go in for blood work.

So that's my story. I'll definitely keep y'all posted -- and would welcome any P&PTs, cheerleading, crossed fingers or whatever nice thoughts you can send my way. I'll send some back to you, too!

Go Susan! I regularly think how impossible it all is, even without IVF, so don't worry if you have a few down days, just do your best to focus on the positive. I think that sounds like a decent number to start with, and maybe you will actually grow a few more than they are predicting. Remember, they are just human and all they can do is tell you the odds, no one can predict exactly what will happen. Just give it your best shot. Hey, we are on a roll with those BFPs, and we want to see yours!

Susan! Thanks for thinking of me. My appointment was moved to tomorrow for some reason. I'll let you know how it goes. So far, so good - no side effects from the Lupron or any of the other meds.

Good news - the doc saw 8 follies at today's u/s! Woo-hoo! He told me that some are still very small but whatevs - that's three more than we ever saw in cycle #1. I am feeling very optimistic. Thanks, gang - I think your positive thoughts are making a big difference! (OK, maybe the lupron is helping a little too. :) )

Thanks, Sandy, Susan and Ruth! Right now we're on schedule for egg retrieval on Sun., June 20 (Father's Day!), and embryo transfer on Wed., June 23.

Ha, Ruth, I've still got the PIO shots to look forward to. DH got really good at it after a couple of days -- plus, putting heat on the injection site right away helped a lot. I avoided looking at the needles at all costs.

Happy Friday, everyone. So - all systems are go for egg retrieval on Sunday (Father's Day - I think that bodes well). We've got 9 beautiful follies (OK, one is a little small but I'm not giving up on him/her). Thanks for all your support - please wish me luck for the rest of this crazy process.
