Hi Ava:)  Friday will be here before you know it--and then all the testing will be behind youSmile  If I remember correctly, the HSG was pretty uncomfortable, but not really painful.  I don't know about the tubal patency--I don't think I had that done, although it was 14 years ago, so my memory may fault me!  What did your doctor say about the short LP?  Is he waiting for the test results?  Low progesterone should be a relatively easy fixWink  With my first two boys, I used Crinone (vag.) and with last three pregnancies, Prometrium (orally).  I'm not sure why the doctors prescribed different types of progesterone, it may just be a preference of the doctor?

I am 6 weeks now.  My u/s is scheduled for one week from today, January 29th.  I'm still so nervous that I try to not even think further than that right now.  I've been pretty nauseated lately, which I take as a good sign....we will see!

I will PM you with my e-mail.  That might be easier than constantly logging on againWink

Talk with you soon,

Krista

Hi Krista,  Im sure your dh is as excited as you are, sounds like he is handling it the way men do totally understated and not many words!

Glad your feeling OK. How many weeks is it now?

AFM I have booked the sonohysterogram and tubal patency, for friday 25th.  I am so nervous I really hope they don't hurt, it sounds somewhat more invasive than I was expecting.  Dh comes back the next day so we can begin our new cycle.  Than I go back and discuss options etc with my obgyn.  Really hoping that it is going to be as simple as the low progesterone, if that is simple??!! lol.  Even though all these tests are costing a fortune.  Still at least I can get the information for serious and proper decision making.

So feeling somewhat apprehensive about Friday but glad to be getting it done and feel more sorted.

If its easier for you and you would like to I wont mind if you PM me.  I don't seem to have a PM thing on my end over here, but if you do please feel free.  Even though this feels like our own private thread at the moment!!  I find this new system so cumbersome I often have to log in up to five times to accept me.  So not sure how easy that is for you.

Cant wait to hear all your news.

Hi AvaSmile  Yes, if I had to guess what was causing your short LP, my guess would be low progesterone.  I've read that anything less than 10 days is too short to support the implantation of an embryo.  I'd definitely follow-up on that with your RE.  When are your other tests scheduled?  Maybe he will start the progesterone this month if you show him your charts.  Worth a try!  If not, I would try the natural progesterone cream you can find in natural food & vitamin stores.  I've heard some brands are more "accessible" for your body, so I'd ask the owner of the vitamin store.  I got mine online after the recommendation of a friend, but it has been many years and I no longer remember the name.  Sorry!  (Maybe you could search online if you can't find it in a store around you.)

We are still working on the science fair experiments.  Not much got done today--I was too tired and Marshall wasn't very motivated to work on it.  Hopefully tomorrow!

Yes, I told DH last weekend.  I had us all telling jokes and riddles around the dinner table and then later, when the boys were out of the room, I said, "Oh, I have a riddle for you.  It's kind of a math riddle so I have to write the numbers down for you to look at.....What do these four numbers have in common?"  When he gave up, I added four lines at the bottom of the page for Hangman..."BABY"  He was floored and shocked to say the least.  I wouldn't say he is over the moon.  He kept saying, "Are you sure?  Could it be a mistake?"  "Wow..."  Then he said, "This is it.  I'm too tired of being sad from losing babies..."  He seems a little more open to the possibility this week.  He's even mentioned a couple of times that maybe this will be a girl.  THAT would be even more shocking than us being pregnant!  I am feeling okay.  Not many symptoms, which has me a little worried, but this is the first pregnancy that I haven't needed to take a prescription for progesterone, so I'm trying to convince myself that the lack of symptoms is from that.  Just today, I'm starting to feel a tiny bit of soreness in BB and a little nausea.  I'm trying to think positivelyWink  Ten more days to go until my u/s!

My brother's fiancee is pregnant and just found out they are having a little girl.  Everyone is ecstatic because she will be the first granddaughter on both sides of the family.  They have absolutely no money and I had already told them I would give them all our baby items.  She asked me today about all the nursery decor and I gulped as I said, "Oh yea...of course you can have it."  We haven't told anyone about the pregnancy, not even my mom as she is really stressed out right now, so I'm not sure what we will end up doing.  I guess I'll have to wait and see if this baby is a keeper.  We hadn't planned on sharing the news until after we get past where we lost Will (14 weeks) and all the testing.  That seems so far down the road...I'm trying to take it one small milestone at a time, so right now I'm focused on seeing a heartbeat on the 29th.  Maybe this will be a girl and I'll need to go buy all new nursery decor anyway!  Lol!

Off to bed.  I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Hi Krista,  I don't know if our volcano was a blast or not!! actually perhaps a fizzler, but it was fun, there was an eruption of sorts, it was the TTC volcano I think! DS seemed to enjoy it and we really enjoyed making it.

Hope the science fair is fun.

I have to ask, Have you told DH yet? How did you do it? Is he over the moon? and hope your well too, and the MS not getting you too much yet.

Do you really think its low progesterone, I so hope your right.  I actually felt quite good about this cycle so was surprised when AF turned up so early, its hard but Im trying to stay upbeat but real about it.  I think my cycle is coming down in length now to a more normal 28 or so days, this last one was only 24!

Really glad to hear from you, there is no one in here its very lonely ...ly...ly.

Hi Ava,

How did the volcano go?  I remember doing that with several of my boys--it was always a blast!

I saw that you started your next cycle.  I'm sorry!  It look like your LP is really short.  I would definitely have your OB check your levels and ask to start on Progesterone as soon as you ovulate.  That might be all it takesSmile

Well, I  have to go do research on two science fair projects with my kiddos.  Better run!  I hope you are having a great weekend!

Hi Krista,  Ha Ha I was channelling Bold and the Beautiful and Ridge's special long looks at the camera with the narrator in the back ground.

You were right!  It looks like I did O earlier,  FF has just put cross hair on my chart saying that I O'd on Sunday!  They are broken cross hairs though so Im going to keep BDing as if CD25 is still O day just in case it all changes, I don't want to miss the timing!

So I am in the 2WW! 3dpo.  Will probably poas about Jan 26th if AF doesn't show up before then.

The other great thing about this is that perhaps my cycle is going back to normal length like 28-30 days.

Now the only thing Im concerned about is IF my progesterone is low and thats why I had such a short luteal phase last cycle, should I look at trying to see my doctor to get progesterone just in case?? The main problem is my obgyn really doesn't want to prescribe anything until he gets all the info from the tests I will be doing after AF, the sonohysterogram and tubal patency test.  And seeing my GP is awkward because he basically thinks Im crazy ttcing at all.

Thats great news about your bfp after having these tests done.  Hopefully I will be so lucky.

Dh's lupis is mainly in his joints, it is apparently a very mild version of it, he needs to keep an eye on the joints to stop them flaring and permanently damaging them.  His organs have been untouched and the levels in his blood are at the very low end of the spectrum which is good news.  He is also now starting to recover from being ill this week and getting back to his usual self.

I hope your mum stays well that is so good to hear she has it under control like that.  I wish her well.

DS calling me, Better go and get this volcano erupting,..... I know it sounds strange.... am doing one of those science project volcanos with baking powder and vinegar to make a volcano erupt out of our plaster of paris volcano we have constructed and painted.  Please let it be spectacular, the build up for this has been tremendous!!

Ava...you are so funny!  I love the "soap opera"Smile  I actually heard the announcer saying the lines in his deep mysterious voice and music playing in the background!  Ha! Ha!

We have to lock our door too.  Too many little people come looking for us at inopportune timesWink  Good luck on getting that lock on!

I'm sorry about DH's lupus diagnosis!  What are his symptoms?  My mom was diagnosed about 18 years ago, but she has been doing very well and seems to be in remission.  I hope he finds something that helps!

I had an HSG and tubal test before our first son was conceived.  I've heard that the test itself can improve fertility (by flushing everything out) and many people get pregnant the same month.  So...if not this month for you, definitely next month!  My BBs are so small from nursing four boys that I hardly ever notice them!  Ha!Ha!  They don't get sore until a while after BFP--still haven't noticed much change in mine, but DH said they look bigger.  Hey!  I'll take what I can getWink  Is it possible that you O'd earlier in your cycle, before you started testing?  Your temps look like my post-O temps, or is that normal for you?  As for the short LP, 8 days could signify low progesterone.  Your RE can test for that and maybe prescribe progesterone suppliments after O to help thicken your uterine lining.  I used progesterone cream topically on my lower abdomen around my ovaries and stomach when I was trying to conceive #2 and #3; then when I became pregnant, my OB switched me to a prescription of Progesterone.  He said he didn't think the cream would do much, but I DID conceive twice while using it, so it certainly didn't hurt!

Well, I am completely exhausted so I better start washing up for bed.  (Calling to DH in next room..."Yes, honey, I'm almost finished getting ready for bed."Wink

Hi Krista, I understand.  Just know I am thinking about you.

I'll make this post really interesting, all about me! LOL, just joking, and Im not even in the two week wait!!  These boards have been so slow and even moving to appropriate boards is difficult without being thrown out. and having to re log in.

After AF, this cycle, I get my sonohysterogram and tubal patency tests done, it happens on cd 5-10 for most accuracy.  So if I dont get a BFP first am actually wishing AF would arrive quickly.  Then I go back to obgyn for all the info on the results.

Looks like Im headed for O at my usual REALLY late cd24 or 25.  Hoping for cd24.  Did an OPK today saw a line, not to faint but definitely not a positive yet.  Really hoping for a long LP this cycle as last cycles was only 8 days.

I'm usually quite oblivious to eps's as I get scared to get my hopes up.  Now, don't get excited as you know I haven't even O'd yet so it is probably an EOS my BB are quite tender?? Have you had this prior to O before?

DH has been really sick this week, and on antibiotics, I feel really worried about him, he has just been diagnosed with Lupis (very mild). He needs to travel interstate on Saturday 19th for a week. My CD25, predicted O day! We are hoping to squeak in our bding in the morning, can you believe it we have to buy a lock for our BR door as my littlest DS still comes into our room in the wee hours of the morning for cuddles and to keep DH and I apart, my little contraceptive device!

!!! This month is like a soap opera - Will DH be well enough to BD? Will DH be able to install lock on door to keep DS out of BR so that we can BD on predicted O day in the morning before DH leaves? Stay tuned for all these answers and other exciting ttc news from Ava's house!

For good measure, everyone reading should cover their faces just for a minute so they don't choke on any of it, I am dropping a massive load of babydust across the board!! I'm sorry for any inconvenience caused!

Will be checking in here everyday for news Krista,

Ava

Hi Ava,

Everything is going well so far here.  I have my first OB appt on Tuesday, January 29th (7 weeks).  I'm 5 weeks today, and pretty much in denial.  I know the odds against me, so I'm trying not to get too excited and not to think too much about a baby at the end.  When I do that, my thoughts turn to my last u/s and all the crushing words I heard from the radiologist, and I start getting emotional again.  Just the thought of an u/s makes me well upFrown

How are you doing?  Any sign of O yet?  Is DH back in town?  I hope everything coincides for you!!
