Low Progesterone question - help!

Posted this on the wrong category - so reposting...

Hi gals,
I left a msg for my RE yesterday with this question, but she hasn't called me back yet ($%(&^$!!!), so I need some reassurance.
You guys may remember when i wrote that my holistic doc had me on progesterone every day for the last 5 months. When I saw my RE for the first time last week, she told me to stop taking it completely since it could adversely affect "o" if taken in the FP. So I stopped taking it last Thursday. You all confirmed that you were only taking prog during LP.
I had first U/S on Friday at RE office that indicated that I had already O'd within the last 24 hours.
So now it's 4 days later in LP, without progesterone and ALL symptoms are coming back from before I was on progesterone. Am I killing my chances? Don't know if I should trust the doctor telling me to stop the prog altogether. I realize now that's a huge change in the middle of a cycle!!
So, I get that the RE wants me to be clean and clear for the blood tests she wants to run the first days of my next cycle, but now I feel like I am risking a good chance of BFP this month since we used Pre-seed for the first time and had some good bd-ing!
What would you do? So confused since two docs are giving me conflicting information. I've already made an appt with another RE, just as a sanity check, but it's not until Sept 16. And this one hasn't called me back. Should I start taking the prog again? Help!

Are you just going by what you are feeling to think your progesterone is low?

holistic doc started me on prog after I tested low in april. been taking oral prog for 2 months, since the cream was too icky. But i haven't had all the symptoms since on the oral. Now they're back, so I can only assume that prog is too low again.

Temps are lower than they were last month LP, by nearly 4/10 degree.

RE didn't order CD21 b/w. So I'm just going on the fact that all my pre - oral prog symptoms are back.

I'm tempted to just take the prog to be safe. I'm having a pubescent breakout on my face and I have a wedding to go to on Sunday. If nothing else, I don't want to look like a pizza face in my cute dress!

I really want to take the prog, am just worried I'll throw off the CD3 b/w results if I don't get a BFP.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I do not think that taking progesterone will throw off CD3 labs since they don't even do progesterone testing on CD3

OK, RE finally called me back, and I REALLY like her solution!

She wants me in on Thursday AM to do a blood pregnancy test (6DPO). If it's positive, she'll put me back on progesterone.

If not, no prog until the b/w results on CD3.

BTW, she said to be safe, the only way to have clean b/w results on CD3 is to be off the prog. Since this is my first set of tests CD3, they will be testing for prog levels.

I feel much better. Thanks everyone!

Kind of cool to have my 2WW cut in half!! Yay!

Susan,
Maybe i'm just having really bad luck finding good docs.

I have an appt at shady grove in mid september, just in case. Sounds like Shady Grove is pretty reputable, and this RE is a single doc practice.

Only time will tell...
