~ Jodi ~
Hi, Jodi -- like other posters, I found Lupron to be a breeze. I was on a microdose (I think .5 mg 2x a day) and I had no side effects. The shots didn't hurt at all.
It also helped my IVF cycle, sort of -- I got four embies vs. the two I got without Lupron. (None of 'em stuck, obviously.)
Jodi, I also used Lupron for our last IVF w/DE and had no side effects at all.
I was on micro lupron for my last IVF cycle.
Thanks Krista - I am supposed to start BCP as soon as my cycle starts and then a few weeks into it start the Lupron (and clomid made me evil) so I was just wondering if it is similar...
I have used Lupron. Shots are easy, needle is small and doesn't hurt -- dosage is very small. Side effects are same as menopause: hot flashes (though I did not have this), dried up everything -- including eyes, so it was a nightmare with my 30d 24 hour contact lenses. Dry skin...fine if you are acne-prone like me. Really very mild...but gave me some idea what I can look forward to in a few more years. Oh yeah...mood swings too. The dry eyes was the worst for me...everything else was par for the course when TTC and really not bothersome.
There is a lot of evidence to support supression of all hormones for a month or two before IUI/IVF/FET.
You will find it manageable, Jodi.
