"Why POAS when you know what the results will be in a few days {AF either comes or not} and what you will do with the results?"

* rolls eyes *

There is no logic associated with POAS a couple of days early. I'm not known to be the most patient individual in the world. I want to KNOW and I want a BFP!

Just turned 43 on 10/2/09. Would love a BFP for my birthday in October!

Boys just don't understand ;)

I am huge poas addict. I admire those that don't give in to it. I start too early and too often. I surrrrre hope I'm done with that for awhile, but I've hoped that before too...

Good luck to you! When is AF due?

Yeah, boys don't get it when it comes to POAS, do they?

I'm a big proponent for waiting till AF is late, but that's just me since I *hate* seeing a BFN. With my last 2 pregnancies, I waited till I was 16DPO to test - but that's also b/c in the past even when I was pregnant, I tested too early (10DPO) and got very clear BFNs and thought it was all over. So, I don't torture myself anymore by testing early. If my temp stays up and I go beyond my usual luteal phase, THEN I'll test.

I, like the PP said, don't like to test too early as it is a total downer seeing that BFN!

Here's a reason: You may detect a chemical pg you might not otherwise, and that can be diagnostic...especially if you are undoing fertility treatment such as IUI, it tells you that sperm penetrated egg, egg made itto blast, and implantation ocurred.

Of course we all know the main reason we do it is we just can't wait to know, right? I am a total POAS addict, I think I have a stash of about 50 FRER's right now. I just can't stand not knowing if an answer may be possible. I always POAS on treatment cycles, I often even test out the trigger shot.

Thanks, everyone, for your points of view and good wishes. I really appreciate those of you who carry such a positive attitude on this board.

The caution to not test due to the possibility of showing a BFP and winding up with a chemical PG (I wouldn't have otherwise known about) definitely gives pause for thought.

The answer will come with time, and I will accept whatever it is. I feel like I'm PMSing though. AF is likely on her way . . .
