Hi Ladies,

Feeling no hope. Have TCM for few months and charting my BBT,and looks like no sign that I ovulate at all. Have consulted fertility specialist before, and I decdied to quit, due to the results and the cost of the treatment. According to the fertility specialist, he don't see any major problem on me at all. (DD has performed test also, no problem). I observed that I don't have ew cm at all during all my cycles, is that means I didn't ovaulate at all? I am really sick of trying, and need your ladies support to keep up.

Good Morning Prissy!

I do not yet have a good story, but I am hopeful over the next months that I will. I have my first appointment with an RE on Tuesday. We got pregnant naturally with our first child, but m/c'd early on, so now we are trying this. The first couple days of my miscarriage, I seriously read every posting here, and it was completely inspiring to see how many women who started where we are talking about the precious babies in thier arms. Its a long hall... On the phone yesterday I was talking to the intake nurse at the RE, and after telling her my story, (only one ovary and barely enough estrodiol to make me female- giggle) she asked me if I would consider donor eggs. Its a possibility. So ovulation or no ovulation, sounds like there is hope for me! The stats say that 90% of women who try fertility treatments get pregnant, it all depends on how far you are willing to go.

There is a string on this board now about over 40 and TCC naturally, 25 posts already!! I know those stories did great things for me, I hope they will for you too. Many hugs to you and I hope that you find peace in whatever decisions you make.

If you have regular periods, I might try ovuation testing (OPT) - they can be kinda expensive but a friend recommended me to a website that sells them and they're more than affordable. www.testsforless.com

I used OPT's myself and it worked the first month but after that it hardly worked at all -but I was only testing once a day - I've read here that it's sometimes recommended to test twice a day - your surge might be that short. Anyway - this month it turns out I'm pregnant so here's hoping everything sticks and come April - I have healthy baby - but be that as it may - you didn't mention how old you were or if you've conceived before.

Maybe try the robutussin thing too.....I've never done that but it's supposed to increase your CM - I guess start taking it 5-7 before you ovulate. But make sure it's just the basic stuff - nothing with decongestant, etc. in it.

Anyway - good luck! It can happen.

Prissy,

I agree with the suggestion of trying ovulation predictor kits-twice a day. As you get older women have less eggwhite cm, but that does not mean they are not ovulating. It is so hard to be positive when it seems like all you get is disappointing news. The Robitussin can not hurt, and remember the doctors say there is "nothing wrong". I wish you much luck!

Sending mega baby dust your way...

Thanks Karen & Tuggernut!

I will try the Robutussin to enrich my CM. DD is on business trip for the coming 2 weeks, and that means we will miss 1 cycle.

I am going to be 40 early Sept. I have 1 daughter(6yrs) which I took Clomid in first try. I was pregnant naturally again when my daughter was 6 months. And as I was very stressful at that moment(my daughter was found to have reflux), we decided to take abortion (thinking that we could have a baby easily anytime later.) I was very regret afterward and always brame myself on making such a wrong decision.

Anyway, we've been trying for the past 3 years but no luck....

Tuggernut,

Which OV detector is better? Mid-stream, cassette....

I just used the dip test - I haven't a clue which one is better.

It was just easier for me to pee in a cup and dip.

Good LUCK and don't beat yourself up.....my sister had a termination years ago and pretty much thought she'd never have another chance - she gave birth to Molly 3 weeks ago and she's 41 almost 42.

Dear Prissy,

Please try to not blame yourself for the decision you made several years ago. At that time that was the right decision for you and your family and it will do no one (especially you) any good to beat yourself up for it now. I would have been completely overwhelmed and terrified at the thought of being pregnant again when my dd was only 6 months old. We think when we become mothers we are supposed to cease thinking about our needs and ourselves. You are NOT being punished for you what did 6 years ago, although I know it is easy to let yourself think that way. Hang in there!

Hi Prissy...as many others have posted, please do not beat yourself up about a decision made in the past....each of us made decisions we wish we'd handled differently...

I am sorry to hear you haven't gotten a BFP...awhile back we exchanged notes on the TCM. I was on them for 3 months, but then I had to stop since I'm doing IVF (the clinic I am working with for IVF will not allow TCM during the IVF process.) Are you noticing a positive change in your cycle with the TCM? If not, maybe ask them to fine tune or change what you're taking...maybe it just needs a little tweaking? If you're noticing a positive change...just keep going. This will work for you.

If CM is an issue, I have heard a lot of good re: the Robittusun...so give it a try!

Sending you tons of baby dust...
