The neighbor woman gave me hope!

I got a chance to speak with the *older woman * (got to love that term LOL) who was pushing her twins in the stroller yesterday. She's 52 and the twins are 10 months old. She did IVF with her eggs and the babies are 10 months old born full term at 39 weeks. Gave me hope! There's hope for all of us.
44- 5 children already- TTC number 6!

Sorry about AF coming Martha but you have a bright month in front of you!!!!
50's w/ newborns, no thanks for me.

Believe me I'm curious to know the details of her conception etc;- all she said was that medicine has come a long way....
I hope we all have some luck soon!
Nope, not seeing Dr. K in NYU. It is another one in the midwest with 7 kids. Proven technology!
Well, temps tanked.... AF on her way!
And, my hope is that we'll get some embryos to freeze after the first DE procedure. So, maybe I'll be walking around with a new set of twins courtesy of my second successful DE procedure 7-9 years from now!
all the best,
Martha

I ditto what JeAnne said.

Waaaaaait a minute, MC2009, are you seeing Dr K @ NYU or is there *another* RE with 7 kids?! (wouldn't surprise me. to use the famous quote, "they have the technology." And the money to raise 'em, thanks to us! LOL)
Anyway, hope is hope is hope, DE or not. If they were her own eggs, they may in fact have been frozen back when, or, what the heck, maybe she is a statistical outlier.
At the very least, you can say to yourself, "Well, dang, she's over 50 and doing this, so I'm a KID by comparison!"
If you drew hope from it, it's a good deal!
Yes, it could have been a sign! LOL, who knows. I agree, growing child in you = your baby.
Her husband looks a lot younger and she could have frozen her eggs for such a time in the future.
I do have one friend who is my age and came to my state to get IVF (she had a tubal for years) and she got pregnant on first IVF try (so lucky) and is due in Jan. An acupuncturist here told me my town is known for women who are older having babies. It's kind of the norm here. My acu also had a patient get pregnant at 47or 48 and she works with the IVF team so maybe it is more liberal here in terms of age? I don't know for sure. I think New Hope in NY and Mexico works with older women. I don't live near either though.

I 100% think you should see that as a sign of hope. Sometimes the universe speaks to us in its own special way, perhaps that was a sign for you.
