New in this board. AF arrived after IUI treatment, feel very sad and down. Hope I can share and got support from you all ladies. <>.

I decided to stop fertility treatment as I can't afford any more (time, emotion...)

I recently stopped fertility treatments also. How are you coping?

I struggle every day with my decision to stop the treatments, so I can sympathize with you. Somehow it does get easier every month. The monthly emotional pain and disappointment are almost debilitating, However, the best we can do now (without medical help) is to think positive, keep trying and hope that a *miracle* occurs :-)

Hi & Welcome to the board! I am glad you found us!

I am very sorry to hear of your negative IUI cycle. How much testing have you had? Did they determine that it is MF only? 1 thing I have found about IF treatment in the last few months is that each RE has there own small & limited segment of knowledge as there are soooo many reasons for IF. It is really up to us as individuals to put the pieces together. If there is anything I can do to help you put the pieces of your puzzle together please let me know. I have gotten the opinions of 9 different RE's over the last 3 months as well as an RI and an acupuncturist. I have gotten more info in the last 3 months on the Web and by talking w/ different Drs. then I had gotten in the whole 3 years of IF treatment. I finally feel like I know what is going on with us and can proceed with the proper treatment. Much of this IF stuff is trial and error and in our age group we don't have the time to take it a cycle at a time. All testing should be done as quickly as possible so that the proper diagnosis/treatment can be administered. Unfortunately that is not the standard way to handle things in this field. Only the basics are covered and then we go through cycles based on very little info about what the problem MAY be.

You will be in our prayers!

Lisa,

Thanks for your reply. New to this board and just figure out how to read reply message. What's MF? I tried few cycles fertility treatment in last year 2003 Feb-May (with Clomid, and the injection). Then I decided to stop, but then my friend she got pregnanat lately and made me decided to try again. Then I just have 1 cycle fertilty treatment. Everything looks so well from the size of the follicle, the quality (blood test), then the ovluation induction injection, IUI.... DH also have test, and no problem found.

woo, you have visited so many REs. I am interested about the acupuncturist, what they said about IF. I was so stressed and I unstood that could affect conceiving, but can't help..as time goes, it's getting worst..

<> and prayer

Hi Prissy,

MF stands for male factor. You said your DH did the testing. What were his stats are far as motility, morphology and volume? Did he have an SCSA test for DNA fragmentation?

What is your FSH? What was the reason your RE recommended you to IUI?

I hope I can help!!

Dear Liza,

Thanks for your reply. I don't have his figure on hand, but in terms of motility, morphology and volume, they all pass. Other than that, he did not have any test (ie.SCSA test for DNA fragmentation). As we have a DD, I wonder there is anything related to DNA. My Dr. only perform blood test for E2 (he said it's for testing the quality of the egg, so that he can determine whether an ovluation induction is proper on around day 14). My E3 reading were (1 time ~800, 2nd time ~350, according to DR 300/folicle should be good enough).

As there is no major problem found on both of us, Dr. recommend to do IUI to avoid any other possible factor which may hinder the sperms' travel up.

Looks like I don't have much information as you all girls in here.
