Ok, here is a question, I am told by my doctor that you can not change the amh numbers which indicate ovarian reserve, BUT a friend of mine had hers tested last year and then again this year and hers went up, so how can that be?

I really don't know. My doctor didn't test me for that, so all I know about amh is from the ladies here. I guess it would depend on whether it is measuring actual eggs left or the ability of the ovaries to grow more. If it is the ability, then I would think it could potentially be possible to change it. But that is only a guess, and I am not at all sure how the test actually works.

No, mine was -1 (negative), less than or -.01, I can't remember exactly but I know it was awful.

sounds like lab error. Supposedly, the test is not dependent on the cycle day on which it is given.

The AMH level can be confusing because there are different units that people quote when it is measured. So, keep that in mind if you go searching for normal AMH levels on the internet. From what I understand, anything below .2 or .3 or so in a certain scale is bad. I was .1. I don't know how Susan was -.1. That just shows that there can be test error.... Anything closer to .7 or 1.0 is great. Anything super high indicates overstimulated ovaries.
