Some of you might remember me from last spring/summer - I posted under the name of Tuggernut.

Anyway - I gave birth to my first child - a boy - on April 26th via c-section. The boy was just too darn big to happen naturally. 10 lb 6 oz, 22 in long.

All I can say is WOW.

I'll be 41 in June and we conceived naturally with the help of a few ovulation predictor kits but nothing else - unless you count copious amounts of prenatal vitamins but other than that - it was just us. My husband is 45.

I just wanted you all to know that it can be done so keep the flame burning and don't lose hope!

I just wanted to say thanks for posting. I've posted on the TTC over 35 board (I'm 38) and your post gave me more optimism than the folks over there that scared the heck out of me saying "oh you better start now - I'm practically barren now that I'm 38."

I would love to try right now but fiance is in grad school waiting until he's financially secure before we get married, much less try to have a child. It's all stuff we will do, hopefully within the next year. I am taking prenatal vitamins so that I'll be ready when we do officially start trying. I'm also eating well and exercising so I think physically I'm in really good shape. I hope my ancient 38 year old eggs cooperate. ;-)

I am happy to hear of the birth of your child. It gives me hope. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!

:-)
