Ovulation Test Kits: Do they work?

Hi, just wondering if anyone has tried those over-the-counter ovulation test kits? Do they really work in terms of predicting with fair accuracy when someone is ovulating? Just wondering cos I thought I had a pretty good handle on my cycle but we've been TTC for about 6 months now with no results. Thanks for any feedback on this.

I would definitely recommend using opks. Some women have extrememly regular cycles, but most women have some variation; the opks can help you more accurately "catch" when you will ovulate. Some people say you have to test twice a day, rather than once a day, as the kits recommend. It can be a bit costly, but worth it in the end if it works!

Good luck!

Thanks for your advice. I'll give it a try. TTC is complicated by frequent travel and not being in the right place at the right time as well as a very hands-on kindergartener. I'll keep ya'll posted on what happens. Thanks again.

If anyone else has information to share about these test kits, I'd be interested to hear about your experiences with them.

I was recommended to this website a year ago ....

www.testsforless.com

You can get pretty reasonable ovulation and pregnancy test there....I used them and they seemed to work - although, I was only testing once a day, it was only in July when I read that it was sometimes suggested to test twice a day.....which probably would have been better for me - as I missed my surge alot....but July was a success and I'm 9 wks today....

Good luck!
