Is this a period or what??

Hello ladies,
I am really confused right now and hoped to get some expert opinions here. I am on CD 33, and I usually have a 31 day cycle. So, I should have started my period by now. Problem is that I don't seem to be starting as I usually do, instead a much lighter start. Actually doesn't seem like a period at all. Seems more like the way my period usually tapers off at the end. Never saw this happen before at the beginning of my period.
I don't know exactly when I am ovulating each month, but it seems to be more toward the later part of my cycle, based on when I notice more CM.
So this "period" that doesn't seem like a period makes me wonder if I may be pregnant.
Has anyone experienced a lighter or partial period at the beginning of a pregnancy? Any other ideas what might be going on??
Any advice would be appreciated.

I agree with Susan, go POAS as soon as you can. When I was pregnant at 39, I was 5 weeks along when I started spotting, much like that tapering off time at the end of AF. I spotted for 4 weeks, gradually increasing from just a bit here and there there that was pink or brown to a fair bit all at once and bright red. My GP FINALLY called my OB (couldn't get in to see her until later on) and they put me on progesterone suppositories and it all stopped in just a few days. Then I find out that as you age progesterone production goes down, and can often cause a m/c. I was SO mad at my doctor, she should have known that and not just blown me off when I asked her about it. (That was only one thing, there were lots more and she is no longer my doctor!) Anyway, if you are pregnant and the spotting/bleeding continues you need to get in to a doctor right away in case your progesterone is low like mine was.

Hi Susan,
Funny to find your advice here just a few minutes after saying to myself, "I think I'm just gonna have to go out and get a test!"
I have to say that I have been avoiding it because I was trying not to jump to conclusions. I hate to see a BFN. I am really getting neurotic! I don't want to set myself up for disappointment. I keep telling myself not to test unless I have VERY good reason to believe I'm positive!
I don't know if I'm still so upset about the mc that I just feel afraid of any disappointment. Too chicken to pee on the stick! I'm really getting looney in my old age.
Thanks for turning on the headlights in my face. I needed that. BTW I didn't think you were yelling. :)
Will keep u posted.
