Questions for Dr. - help

I'm not even sure what I want to ask. Here's my story. I'll be 41 in a few weeks. I have one DS (5) and had one mc 3 years ago. Hubby and I haven't been very good about really trying. Two years ago I had the blood tests done and my doctor said that all of my levels were fine - of course I was 39 then not over 40. So now hubby and I decided that we want to try - really try - one more time. Our insurance won't cover fertility stuff but we can fund some stuff - certainly not invitro at what $10,000 a pop. So I'm going to make an appt. with my doctor and was wondering what should I ask, what can he do, what might he suggest. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks.

Welcome to the board!!! Glad you found us!!! I guess the first thing you would want to do is have some more blood work done. You could also buy the Clear Plan ovulation predictor kit so you will know when you are ovulating. From what you said it seems like you haven't been really trying yet so the basics is a good start. You may want to try taking some herbal supplements & try acupuncture. There is a great book called the Infertility Cure & it is about the Traditional Chinese Methods to help infertility. It is the best book out there on TTC & should be read by all here. If you want to go a little further still you could try IUI's which are a lot cheaper than IVF. It would give you better odds than TTC naturally although not as good as IVF. You may not really need IVF as you had no trouble conceiving on your own before.

Hope this helps.
