Questions as I head towards ovulation

I'm sorry some of these questions might sound basic or ignorant, but since I haven't been able to conceive since July, I am starting to think about things I didn't think I needed to before!

1. Is there any chance that the lower back pain I had with my first pregnancy (that still hurts even after a chiropractor) could affect my TTC this time?

Hello Melissa!

Thank you for the information. I had a bad kidney infection last summer, so it was interesting to read about a possible connection between kidneys and conception! I will read the article more in depth soon.

Hi Jen!

Here is an article I think you'll find interesting, it's about nutrition and fertility: http://www.ivillage.com/infertility-cure-how-nutrition-makes-difference/6-a-144566

Some women will try different vitamins and supplements, it all depends on what you want to work on such as luteal phase or ovulation. It wouldn't hurt to reduce caffeine and alcohol intake while you are TTC, anything that makes you healthier overall.

It takes about 48 hours for sperm to regenerate, so if there are any concerns about sperm quality, than it's probably better to have sex every other day. Here is some more info: http://www.ivillage.com/timing-lovemaking-optimize-conception/6-n-145510

I'm not sure about your period, my concern would be if your lining is sufficient to support a pregnancy. It might be something to ask your doctor about? There might be some ways that can help if there is an issue with it.

Hello Vicki!

I do not take meds for my lower back pain. It feels like I need an adjustment. I went to a chiropractor who gave me an adjustment, but it didn't help much and I can't afford to continue. I try to stretch it. Maybe my question is if my back is not aligned, could that pose an issue.

Thanks for your thoughts on the other questions!

None of your questions are ignorant. And I think it's good to become proactive and learn as much as we can. With that said, I don't think I will be much help to you but I'll try my best.

1. What kind of back pain? Do you have it all the time or does it occur only during certain times of the month? Are you on medication for it?
