Ugh. Woke up at 4 am with awful backache and (TMI alert) gush of dark brown blood. Went to doc at 7 for ultrasound. Bean is still there and looking good. Doc says it might be m/c, might not, and to come back on 9/13 unless I start serious bleeding. This is a nightmare. Trying to stay optimistic but it's hard.

Big hugs and I'll be holding you in my thoughts. Take it easy and don't spend all day searching on the internet for "what it could mean." Your body will do what your body is going to do. Bleeding does NOT mean the end of a pregnancy, but I would have a quiet weekend anyway if I were you. Hang in there, it's important to stay positive.

Thank you guys so much. The RE and nurse both said it's OK to go to VT, since if there is what the nurse called an "undesirable outcome" they wouldn't be able to do anything anyway. My HCG is still doubling, which I am taking as a good sign. No more gushers, just some more dark brown spotting. The backache is worrisome since that was the first sign of my m/c. Ugh. I will let you know how things go.

I know how scary it is but i just wanted to say that the same thing happened to me when I was pg with DS. He is 16 months now. Try not to freak out too much- your hcg is still great and you can see the little bean is still going strong.
