Go for it, LaRae. All it takes is one, and like my doc explained -- getting past the cervix (for sperm) is like trying to breach the beaches of Normandy. An IUI makes one less hurdle, so hey, they're not very expensive...my RE only charges $275 and the sperm prep is about $150. In the big scheme of things, it's worth a shot. All it takes is ONE!
Thanks girls, I had a good talk with my hubby and he was wonderful, I am going for it because we want to be able to say we have done everything possible, within our means and I agree.... So... today or tomorrow we will go in and give it a try.
I know how you feel, LaRae. I also feel at this point my eggs are too old (otherwise I wouldn't have lost 3 in a row...and all my blood tests came out normal). My dh takes some supplements that are supposed to help with sperm quality, etc (even though I'm sure he doesn't need it because I got pg 3 X in a year) and the other day, I was frustrated and told him, "I'm not sure why I'm even having you take these, because I'm sure it's just my bad, old eggs causing my losses." *sigh* For me, I've recently decided that I'm giving myself till the end of the year to conceive and if it doesn't happen (or I lose another one), I'm calling it quits. I just can't see going through the agony of more losses or giving birth past 45 anyway, personally.
It's true it might not happen but then again, it just might! I really hope you'll be one of the blessed ones! Thats all you can do: hope and pray. -Pix
This is a tough road to travel and emotions change a lot through the month. Hang in there!
