I'm getting an HSG on Thursday.

About me: A pixie in the city, 41, TTC#1 since May 2010, married 18 years.


Diagnosed with/surgically removed endometrioma Aug 2010. Sept IUI #1=BFN. Nov IUI #2=BFN. Uterine polyp removed Jan. 2011. Jan 2011 IVF cancelled. No response. 2nd

I agree with everyone else. The HSG is interesting to watch and not painful. I found it comforting to know one thing wasn't wrong!

I think you need to talk w/ your RE. 41 isn't that old. I know many women (5)

Pix, the Advil is not for pain -- the ibuprofen is known to open the tubes. You might have minor cramping during or after and minor spotting after...Susan is right -- not much worse than a pap.

I say, wait to hear what the Dr says. You may not have any problems conceiving naturally--you just started right? See what he/she says after analyzing all your tests and then you can make an informed decision. Try not to feel desperate if possible (and if ONLY I could follow my own advice!!!!), because you may be only 10 days from naturally conceiving your first baby!!!

Some would disagree with me but I thought the HSG (had 2 of them) was no worse than a pap smear and it's over pretty quick.
