Yellow ewcm for 2 weeks straight?

I'm going to ask this here b/c I cannot find anyone who has had this happen to them.

I am nursing my 15 month old, waiting for ppaf. I am 43. I have had over 4 months of major fertility returning type symptoms that lead to nowhere. My dr. says it's b/c I'm old.....I've posted about this before. Anyway......

For 2 weeks straight now I've had yellow EWCM. Stretchy, fertile looking, yellow EWCM. This morning I got ferning and a really dark opk.....and got all excited. Then the other two opks for today were way lighter. So much for excitement.

Has ANYONE had yellow ewcm that lasted this long? I've read alot about yellow cm that you can get on and off. I can't find anyone to say they've had it ongoing. BTW, there is no odor or cloudiness.....not an infection, imho.

I can't believe this doesn't mean something, but then again, I've said that countless times the last 4 months.

Has anyone had this happen to them?

So sorry I didn't reply to this yesterday, somehow I missed it!

Hmmm, I can't say that I have had that happen. But, given that you had ferning and the dark OPK, then I would think you are likely good to go. I haven't used opk's much, but from what I have learned I wouldn't worry about the lighter opk's, could just be that you had already ovulated by the time you took the second one, am I right? Do you temp? That would be one other way to tell what is going on. I suppose you will know in a couple of weeks what happened, although it is hard to wait that long, I know.

I posted a link to my chart so you can see what's going on.

Hi Dee, sorry, but I don't see the link to your chart, did I miss it? I read about some research that said there are often "waves" of follicular development until finally an egg is released, even on a normal fertile cycle. If that is the case, then getting the opks you have, it would make sense. Doesn't make it any less frustrating though. How much are you still nursing? Until I went down to just once or twice a day, my cycles would not return. Not everyone is like that though, some people start AF even when nursing full time, and others not until they are completely done. You might want to see if there is anything you can do to encourage ovulation while still nursing. I haven't looked at that, but I would think there must be something. FWIW, IMHO I think your doctor is wrong and this has more to do with the fact that you are still nursing than it does with your age.

To me it looks like your body is still deciding when to start official ovulation again. You are still nursing, so I am guessing that it is largely because of that. I suppose your age could factor into how long it is before you get your ppaf, but I certainly wouldn't put it down as the main culprit. It can be hard call to decide what to do when nursing is so important for your little one. I hope your ppaf decides to make her appearance very soon.
