Hi everyone...

I'm 40 with a younger second husband ttc. Have a first baby, now 19 yrs old. (Can't call him a baby! LOL)

I live in New Zealand & it was great to find this site.

We have been advised to take a 3 month Folic Acid course before we start trying to reduce the risk of downs. Only been on it 1 month. Oh the waiting. Started swimming to get as fit & healthy as poss. Must say I'm really scared about motherhood again after this big gap - do others feel like this?

Lots of baby star dust to you all.

Hi Trudy,

I'm new to the board too. I just m/c at 17 weeks due to the amino. But we are going to try again. I have an 18yoa daughter and stepchildren ranging from 31-13. So I don't think the gap is too big. My stepdaughter was so happy for me and she has two kids 5 and 2, we were looking forward to their aunt playing with her neice and nephew. Things work out and kids are great. Just think of all the things your 19year old can teach the new baby (good and bad!). Your also older and if like me so much more laid back than I was when I was younnger. Now I know not to sweat the small stuff.

Good luck and lots of baby dust.
