42 pregnant and worried

Hello all, I am new with lots of worries. I am 42 and pregnant, only 4 weeks along. I had an m/c on Sept. 13. This was my second m/c. My first was in 2001. I have a 26 year old daughter and a four year old son. Yes I know its a big gap. So I have the best of both worlds.
I'm excited about the pregnancy but with every pain or cramp I start to worry. I feel good about this baby since its due on my birthday. Sept. 23 2006. I dont want to call my obgyn just because I dont want to hear any bad news, but I will call on monday. I dont want to see that little heart beat again unless I know everything is going to be ok. I know that sounds selfish. I cant help it. We are not telling anyone this time until 12 weeks. I'm going to think lots and lots of good thoughts. I'm going to look at baby stuff till I cant look anymore. I'm sending good vibs to my little one. We have all girl birthdays in Sept. so I'm thinking we are having a girl.
Are there many of you going through this or have gone through this. I could use lots of support right now. Baby dust to all of you who are trying and good luck to those that are pregnant.
Thanks, Anne

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I'm sending you hugs, good vibes and baby dust (pink of course) for your pregnancy. Although I haven't yet become pregnant for even the first time, I think we all have a bit of fear about losing a baby. I have been reading everything I can about TTC over 40 in the past month and I've discovered a lot more negative things than positive but I think we all know that it's very possible to have a healthy pregnancy over 40 and that is why this board is so important to all of us.

Best wishes and baby dust!

CONGRATULATION Anne!!!!

I am so thrilled for you. Please baby vibe my way. I am also 42. I am ttc for my first.
I got pregnant in Nov 05, but lost it at 6 weeks. This month we tried again and I am waiting for the test this weekend. I wish I got BFP. So, we go through this together huh?

Hello Kim,
Thanks for your response and yes it is stressful but try not to concentrate on the negative. I dont read any information on pregnancy over 40. If I did I would completly stress out and I realy dont think that enough studies have been done to give good acurate information. My grandmother gave birth to my mother while she was in her 40's. My mother was not the youngest child. All we can do is pray that we have a healthy and happy baby. The rest is in Gods hands. I have to learn to let go of the wheel. Good luck to you and God bless.

Hello Vera,
Yes we will go through this together. I just called my dr a little while ago and am going in for a checkup. We are a little concerned about some cramping I am having and since I am such high risk my dr wants to check everything. Its going to drive my husband nuts. I do hope you have a bfp this month. I'm sending you lots of baby dust and good wishes.

Some cramping in early pregnancy is normal, as long as it's not accompanied by bleeding.

Hi Anne,

My doctor appointment went well I think. It is confirmed that I am pregnant. I just got the result today. My beta number is 2480 for 4w2d. I looked it up. It is in a high end and the nurse said it was higher than last time when I was pregnant in Nov. Tomorrow, I will go for a 48 hour repeat test and see if it double.

How are you? How is your cramp?

Let me know

Vera
