Hello All, I am new to this forum, just looking for support and to give support to women who may have shared experiences. I'm turning 44 in January, and my husband & I are going to start trying this month. I had a blighted ovum 2 years ago now, I'm really hoping that this time we'll be blessed with a wee one very soon. Anyone else have a blighted ovum, a miscarriage, or TTC or have conceived over 40? Love to hear from you. Hugs.

Hi,

My name is Robin and I just turned 45 on wednesday and I've been trying on and off for about 2 yrs for #2. I've been pregnant twice once 2 months before my 40th bday and that ended in miscarriage at 16 weeks my doctor said it was a problem with the placenta. I got pregnant again 6 months later and that was a normal pregnancy. My son is over 3 now and I thought we would try for another. I had my yearly checkup in november and my doctor said we should start more aggressive treatment. I just finished something called a Clomid challenge and I guess i'll find out from the results if i'm able to conceive again.

Hi Robin, thank you for your post. I wish you all the best as you continue to try for #2. Had you ever tried to get pregnant before your miscarriage and then your successful pregnancy? I have heard that it's harder for a woman to conceive later in life if she did not have a baby earlier on. I don't know where I read or heard that but I just wonder if it's a common theory that you may have heard.

I just keep reading success stories now, and try to follow advice not to stress about it all. Just having had the blighted ovum 2 years ago kinda worries me that I can't have a normal pregnancy. But you had a miscarriage (I'm sorry) and then conceived at...what was it 42? COOL!

Also what is a 'more aggressive' approach? And a Clomid challenge, sounds intriguing. I see a gynecologist for the first time on Tuesday morning so I'm looking forward to having my questions answered.
