I appreciate your response and for the information.
Glad to help but please come back and let us know how things turn out. Best of luck to you.
Thank you for the response! Congratulations on the birth of your daughter!
HGH is Human Growth Hormone. It is used in the second half of the stim cycle up to ER or ovulation. In studies it increases the live birth rate for women over 40. Specifically, when women get pg on growth hormone the incidence of m/c is much lower, te rate of chemical pfg much lower...when they get pg it tends to result in a live birth. Worked for us, finally, I heard of it from another grad of this board who tried it after failed IVF- worked for her too and she was 44. It seems to reduce the chromosomal errors that happen during mitosis and meosis by increasing levels of IGF-1 in follicular fluid.
Frankly, I don't think any woman over 40, especally with a history of miscarriage, shoulld cycle without it. It's not cheap, adds about 1K to the medication cost for a cycle...but worth every penny IMO when you looks at the studies. Also, it is strictly controlled due to abuse by bodybuilders, and not all fertility pharmacies will dispense it. I got it from a local Walgreens fertility pharm and apocathary shops. If you look a the first study, it increased the clinical pregnancy rate from 6% to 26%, and the delivery rate from 4% to 22%. What really imprssive is the ages of the women studied were 41-44.
I wish I could give you reassurance, but I can let you know that you are not alone in this never-ending struggle. We have been doing various fertility treatments for 3 years now without success. I know how frustrating/sad/and lonely it can feel. I've heard from women who tried for years without success and on that "one more try" were blessed with pregnancy.
good luck & keep us posted!
When is your next IVF scheduled for?
We haven't scheduled the next cycle yet because my husband has to travel over the next two months.
