Accupuncture for Fertility

Has anyone tried accupuncture and herbal remedies to achieve ovulation?

I'm 44 and fast approaching 45. I have one child that was conceived when I was 40.

I'm receiving nothing but negative "advice" from my doctor, saying I have a 1% chance of achieving pregnancy. Slightly high FSH levels and my OPK rarely tells me I'm ovulating (am beginning to hate the thing). I was told I have "tired ovaries", whatever that means. Been TTC for 2 years and can't seem to give up :-)and I am beginning to question my sanity!

I have spoken with some ladies that swear that accupuncture helped them get pg.

Thanks for the feedback!

I don't remember the exact # of the level, but I think it was in the high teens.

My OBGYN talked to her RE mentor at a major hospital and that's who said I had the 1% chance and they don't recommend doing IVF for women my age and my only hope was donor eggs. I'd been to an RE before I started seeing this doc (my old doc refused to put me on clomid until after I'd tried for a year and I was 42 at the time!!!) The RE told me that it was my age and gave me advice, told me clomid wouldn't help, but I chose not to pursue at that time. Now I'm confused about whether or not to keep trying. every day is a struggle.

Cathy,

I found out that my FSH level was 10 and my TSH was .97

I read a depressing article about FSH levels and how fragile "old" eggs are.

My accup. appt isn't until March 9th...am trying to stay positive :-)

Something else about FSH's..

FSH ranges can vary from Dr office to Dr office due to variations in test method, test instrument, etc. My RE's office has a range where over 12 is where they start to recommend IVF.
