Hi all. It's late, I know, but I've had a bit of a crazy day. My partner and I are not quite TTC yet. We are planning to have my tubal reversed in Feb. 2010. However, because of my age, my ObGyn ordered Day 3 and Day 21 labs so I would know where I stood hormonally. Everything came back "within normal limits' except my progesterone which was 9.08. So, she sent me to an RE who I saw today. Basically, although my labs are fine and the type of tubal that I had (15 years ago!) is the most easily and successfully reversed, he was very candid that because of my age, the chances of our conceiving are

No, you are not the oldest, I am 44, will be 45 in January. I am still TTC, but DH and I had agreed to go until the end of the year and leave it in God's hands. I would be willing to go a bit longer, not sure he is though. I did conceive twice when I was 43, but unfortunately I lost both of them. Don't let that worry you though, I personally have a high rate of m/c. I also know a lady who had a baby last December, and she was 47 at the time. She has had at least three of her babies in her 40's, and no m/c anywhere along the line. I am still hopeful that things will happen for us, everything seems to be functioning normally, but I have not had all the tests done. (Dr didn't feel it was necessary) Anyway, I hope all of that encourages you a bit, I know you aren't alone. :-)

I'm 47. I became pregnant for the first time in my life, unassisted, three months before my 45th birthday. Sadly, I miscarried at 10 weeks. Hi there!

Michelle and my stories are very very similar. I am going to be 45 in January too. I also got pregnant two times when I was 43 and I also lost both pregnancies. I had a chemical pregnancy about 4 months ago. I know women in their 40s get pregnant all the time, but the chances are much lower. But I keep telling myself that lots of women do it and so can I. I think the stress of it all is really hard on us though. I'm trying to find a way to truly leave it in God's hands and not stress over it. it's very hard to do!!! i'm sure eventually i'll get there.

i wish you much luck. it's so worth trying!!!

I'll be 44 in January. and as I see it, I am not dead yet, so if I want to keep trying for a baby (my first) then why the heck not.

No, you're not - I am 46 and a Red Sox fan, too! Neither of us have any issues, but had 2 MCs (at 44 and 46). Periods are more regular than ever. We're not giving up, but I'm trying to relax about it. I quit my job, so I hope the lowered stress levels will help. We're also going to Aruba - maybe that will do the trick! There are so many women in my life (mother, grandmother, 3 cousins) who have had children in their 40s, so it can happen to me...and you!

Thanks for the good words! Maybe next year, right? The Red Sox, I mean : )Hopefully, BFP for you and the rest before then. I need a TR first (right after the first of the year) then BFPs all around! Someone suggested checking out the Pregnant over 40 message board. Now, that's some great stuff! Gives me hope. Check 'em out. Some awesome ladies on there. Some of whom have been right where we are.
