Anyone know a 40+ who got pg naturally?

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone personally knows of any woman who got pg in her 40's without assistance? Was it her first pg? Was there anything about that particular woman that stood out, like she was particularly active or athletic or a healthy eater?

I know women in the 40's who got pg, but I am not sure if they had assistance. I don't know them well enough to ask.

Thanks,

Barbara

My friend did. She had her first and only baby at 41. She wanted another one at 44 but she is 47 now and only has the one. She had no assistance of any kind. She is a vegetarian, very thin, but I don't think that had much to do with it. I have a sister in law who had her first baby at 42 but she did IVF. I got PG with our second child at 39 years and 50 weeks! That was all natural, no docs, no meds. I got PG again last Jan. at 42 1/2 but that was the first cycle after a clomid cycle which I think increases the chances. And it ended in a M/C anyway. Good luck, it is sometimes done.

It is great that you got pg naturally at 39 yo, however, did it take you a while to conceive?

What prompted you to take clomid at 42 1/2? Had you been trying to conceive a while before taking the clomid?

Thanks!

A good friend of mine got pregnant at 42 naturally and had a healthy baby girl. Her one and only so far, (she saw a Chinese acupuncturist). Also another woman who is a friend of a friend got pregnant naturally at 45 and is just about to give birth. Another woman who was a patient of a naturapath doctor I am seeing got pregnant at 53 with her own eggs and naturally!!!! And a healthy baby too. She had tried to get pregnant every which way, with IVF, all sorts of fertility treatments and nothing. It wasn't until she went to see my doctor that she got pregnant.

I have gotten pregnant naturally 3 times over 40 but have had miscarriages each time. I think it is because I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome that I am only now finally treating.

There are many examples of women getting pregnant over 40 naturally, so don't give up!

Barbara~ I myself am TTC at 42 (who would have thought) but I'm encouraged by my mother telling me that my grandfather was conceived (naturally, of course) at his mother's age of FORTY-TWO. Let's hope it runs in the family! Can't tell you what my great-grandmother did to protect her fertility (other than wish she wasn't so fertile), but I suppose they lived in a much healthier environment than the one we live in today.

Hi, I'm new here -- 43 yrs. old and TTC. I already have 7 children, my last was at age 36 but my husband died and I got remarried to a wonderful man and now we are trying to have one of our own. To answer your question-- my boss had her second and third child naturally at age 43 and 46. She's Catholic and has never used birth control. As far as I know, she doesn't exercise or have a special diet. So there IS hope for us!

Barbara,

I am 43 and got pregnant naturally the first time we decided to "try." We used an Ovulation Predictor Kit. I was astounded to miss my next period. I am no healthier than average. I am about 15 lbs overweight, and though I have worked out at the gym regularly for most of my adult life, for the past year I have been a slacker and not gone! I have never had any difficulties with any pelvic organs, always had regular and extremely easy periods, and have had no major health problems. Also, my mother, sister, and grandmother all had births around the age of 40.

Hi Barbara,

My aunt had my cousin when she was 48 years old he is perfectly healthy. My grandmother was 41 when she had my dad. Of course back then there was no scientific help. They had several other children previously. My cousin got Pg with her 1st naturally @ 39. I have read books of women who had there first over 40 & did it naturally. You should read The Infertility Cure. It is very helpful.

Hope you are doing well. Anything I can do to help just give me a post!
