Anyone know a 40+ who got pg naturally?

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone personally knows of any woman who got pg in her 40's without assistance? Was it her first pg? Was there anything about that particular woman that stood out, like she was particularly active or athletic or a healthy eater?

I know women in the 40's who got pg, but I am not sure if they had assistance. I don't know them well enough to ask.

Hi Nancy,

I read your reply and it seems like we have similar stories with ttc issues. I am turning 45 this year and have 3 pregnancies over 40, unfortunatly 2 m/cs and one stillbirth. Still ttc and hope to natural this year. It would be the most awesome joy to have a child with my eggs. But will resort to other options if I have too. Still not willing to let go of my dream yet. Would love to correspond with you. You can email me at if you would like. Look forward to hearing from you.

I am 45 and have been pg 3 times since I turned 40, naturally and with no problem. I still have no baby in my arms due to 2 m/c's and a stillborn at 37 weeks due to umbilical cord accident.each time I got pg it took me about a year of ttc. My dh & I have been ttc again since the death of our daughter 18 months ago and now we are having troubles conceiving. We have went to an RE , all the test are ok so far. I am having a CCT done this month to test the quality of my reserve. but in answer to your question , yes you can get pg over 40 naturally.

Well, here I am another miracle story..
My husband and I got pregnant the 1st time when I was 42 and I miscarried, then we tried and tried and nothing. I didn't take anything but prayed a lot! We started talking about adoption and signed up to take the MAPP classes. We went to Paris and about 3 weeks after we got back we found out I was pregnant. I was 44 years old and had a nearly perfect pregnancy and at 40 weeks had c-section (baby never dropped) and came home with a beautiful baby girl who is now 18 months. I am now 46 and well, you never know....I believe in the power of prayer!

I got pregnant naturally for the first time at 42, without even trying. I thought, "gee, this is easy" and then I had a m/c at 9 weeks. Not easy at all. Now I'm wondering if it was a fluke (probably), and am TTC. I hope it works out without fertility treatments.

Best of luck to you!

You are very welcome Lisa...
Sorry about AF...I know how that feels.
It seemed like every year I would get AF on Christmas morning :-(
I just wanted you to know that I'm thinking about you.
Hang in there!

Thank you for posting your story today. It is the start of my AF and I am feeling pretty down and hopeless (a feeling that always happens this time of month). I too am 41. I am so glad to hear a positive story. Enjoy your pregnancy!

Me me!!
Here is my miracle story...
I am 41 yrs old. Cris and I have been trying to conceive since we met in 1998. After about 6 months I went to the doc. He ran all the necessary tests. Did an HSG. Put me on clomid. Did clomid for about 6 months. After that went to RE. Had a lap done. Had mild endo. Did 5 cycles of IUI w/injectibles. All failed. In December of 2001 did IVF had two embryos. Found out Christmas eve that it resulted in a chemical pregnancy. We were devestated! Gave up.
My dear hubby bought me a convertible for my 40th Birthday! He figured if we couldn't have a baby at least I could drive a cool car. He took over driving my old car, our "family" car.
We had resigned ourselves to the fact that God didn't intend for us to have children and we were really both all right with it! We have 4 kitties and 2 corgis that make us very happy!
At the end of May my husband was trying to help out my sister and her family by assisting them in buying a new car. It wasn't working out so he decided to give them our recently paid for "family" car. He bought himself a new Jeep wrangler! He loved it!
We were driving home Memorial day in the new Jeep and he says very casually..."Watch, you'll get pregnant tomorrow".
We conceived the next day (day 12 of my cycle)!!
Two weeks later on Fathers Day we had a positive pregnancy test! I have never been so shocked in all my life!
I am 30 weeks and 4 days today. I still have days that I can't quite believe it!
People used to tell me to stop stressing about it and it would happen. I hated when they said that. We finally came to a place in our lives that it was ok to not have kids and that's when it happened for us!
I have had a fabulous pregnancy so far! We opted for no genetic testing, I'm having a baby regardless.
I am loving being pregnant so much that I hope it's not my last! I will place it in God's hands again and if it happens it happens!
Good luck to all that are trying!!
If it's meant to be it will happen...don't give up!

I did concieve when I was 41, after 3 cycles of IVF and all the drugs, all 3 failed, and got pregnant the next cycle. Baby was born healthy and is now 2 1/2. DH
and I are trying again, and have some symptoms - but only day 26 of cycle, have to wait until next week for a pg test. I am now 45 and still trying. It does happen! Have faith!
