Lisa I don't mind answering! =) This board is so important to talk about and share all our concerns, fears and questions as women TTC in their 40's!! I seriously am not afraid of the chromosomes issues. I know they exist, I know our chances are higher, I know the chances of m/c is higher than actually going full term with a child who will have special needs, but that is all ok, it is worth it to me to have a child with my husband. I am not afraid of having a special needs baby, I work in a special ed classroom K-2nd grade, with down's, autism, MR, etc. and they are AWESOME kids, they are smart and funny, in their own way and accomplish great things!! However, this is a personal decision and choice, it has to be right for you. You do have some healthy eggs in there, it is just being patient enough to hit one, if it isn't healthy then nature usually takes care of it. Big hug....

I am so sorry about the current pregnancy. I too had a blighted ovum and a d&c. I cried hysterically on the cot in the hospital the entire day of the d&c. Its ok. It will get better, it does get better.
And I am going to address your question directed at LaRae, yes we should all be concerned about bad chromosomes. I think everyone on this board knows I aborted a baby last year after a bad nuchal fold measurement. I later found out it had Trisomy 13. So it is of course something to discuss and think about with your partner just in case you end up in a position of having to make a difficult decision about whether to terminate. When the genetic counselor says you have a 1 in XX chance you never think its going to be you but it was me. But LaRae is correct, I was told that my pregnancy should have miscarried and still likely would have at some point in the pregnancy.
Are you going for one more ultrasound or were you sure of the dates. I was absolutely sure of my dates and opted for a d&c because I hated feeling pregnant still.

We are going Delaware to see my in-laws for a few nights (they live near Rehoboth Beach), then heading north to Cape Cod for 4 nights. Last time we went to see my in-laws I was miscarrying/having AF after the chemical pregnancy and was crying the whole time. Hopefully this time will be more fun.

Hi Becca and welcome to the board. So sorry for your loss. I totally understand where you are. I had no problems conceiving my kids when I was in my 20's, got pregnant with the first on the pill. Now it's so hard to do. You are not alone at all.

Hope you hang around so we can chat and share this journey together.
