I'm here still lurking and occasionally posting. Maybe some of the oldies (bad choice of words) will remember me or maybe not. I thought I'd better join in because there have been many BFP's lately which is so great, hoping that the baby dust will fall on me too!

I have had 2 losses and a chemical pregnancy last year.

I've read mixed reviews on the vitex.

Yes, I took a product called Pregnancy Prep which has vitex in it. Got to say I had strong O's on it and high progesterone levels. I did not however get EWCM and I worried that it had too much vitex in it and was affecting estrogen levels. There is debate on when to take vitex - some say throughout cycle, some say second half.

I never O's on day 14 of my cycle ever until I took that -not that I've had many cycles in my life because after I got pregnant with my twins at age 22 I did not get my cycle back for another 4 years due to lactational infertility then I got pregnant without having a cycle- that turned out to be a blighted ovum and I got pregnant one year later and then had my son- and did not have cycles until a few years ago again because I had several pregnancies without a cycle and nurse my kids long term.
Whew, so prior as a young 20 something I had very irregular cycles and then long cycles (33-34 days) and would O on days 17-19. I was on clomid for 9 months back then.

So all in all, I would not say I am totally regular without herbs. I'm not. If I didn't take them I don't know when I would O.

How did I have several successful pregnancies in between? I saw my acu/herbalist on a regular basis weekly all those years (for general health) and that most likely how I became so fertile and was able to get pregnant several times before my menstrual cycles returned.

It was always funny writing down my LMP on the midwife's forms LOL, yeah my last menstrual cycle was 12 years ago and so on.44- 5 children already- TTC number 6!

My cycles are regular and I 'o' with or without meds anywhere from cd10-cd14 consistently.

I'm enjoying Vitex--I have regular cycles, but my acu approved Vitex for me to smooth out the cycle which she felt could use some fortification due to my age (will ABSOLUTELY stop for IVF, though). Vitex has, an, um, enlivening effect on my libido. Or maybe it's the DHEA giving me energy. Too bad hubs had the vasectomy, cuz I could do some serious BDing lately.

But with no sperm outta the deal, what would be the point? Sex for fun? Bah, what's that?!?!

Anyway, handy way to remember me as the IVF/Sperm aspiration/Male Resistance Factor girl:

My life will take one of two paths: Husband will stay chicken and resist another kid -OR- he'll change his mind and I'll get to try IVF with my own eggs.

Chicken. Or Egg. Ta-da! :)

You are lucky you O without help!

I was to put it quite mildly shocked to get pregnant 3 times without a cycle. But I knew right then and there - warning TMI- as I sat on the toilet getting all the *sperm* out afterwards that I still wound up pregnant.

Yeah, my kids would turn 3 and bam I would O(most likely because they weaned themselves from night nursing) and catch that first O LOL with a pregnancy! I nursed them throughout my pregnancies but got fed up with tandem nursing.

I just wish I was still that fertile! It's been 6 years since so time has gone on, but I have great hope (maybe I'm just deluded).

I'm glad to hear Vitex didn't mess with your cycle.

I've read some controversy regarding vitex and AMA's so I stay away from it.

Yeah, sorry we're running into the weeds with your perfectly civilized intro topic!

Hard to know what supplements can help, might hurt, or (in most cases) probably not have much of an effect. Always wise to clear things with doctors first, though really, mine doesn't think supplements have all that much impact, especially on AMA ladies.
