Hi Ladies,

I have never done the temperature charting before. I just bought a basal therm. and wondered if it matters when you start checking? Also, my husband gets up at 5am and I hop up to shut off the alarm for him. Then go back to sleep for awhile. So, would it be ok just to take my temp before I get up for the day? Or will getting up quickly at 5am mess things up?

Lisa,

You can start any time. Are you using fertilityfriend.com? Enter the old cycle data you have (at least the first day of this period).

If I were you, I would take my temperature at 5 am when the alarm goes off and let hubby shut it off.

I don't know anything about fertility friend website, I tried to go there and sign up but not sure what I did wrong. As for the 5am thing....I'll just have to move the alarm clock over to the bed then, because if I continue to jump up to shut it off, won't that mess up my temp??

Take it from someone who was very inconsistent in the beginning with what time I took temps...it DOES mess things up.

Yes, when you ovulate your temperature should have a significant shift.
