Chinese herbs with acupuncture

I am seeing an acu I trust and like. She is very honest about everything, including outcomes of treatment. I have seen her before for my back. I went yesterday to start acu to get pregnant. I am 40 and have a 4-year old daughter. Got pregnant with her very easily at 35. My body is out of whack due to surgeries and meds. My goal is to restore overall balance to my body and treat (in)fertility. I would also like to take the herb tea but my acu's price is quite high. She has it all mixed and brewed to your specific needs and packaged ready to drink so that is great but the cost for a large batch is $350! (forgot to ask her how many weeks that covers but will ask during next appt) I have not purchased any yet. Trying to decide if I should try a month or two without the herbs and just do the general needle treatment focused on fertility as I am convinced that while my eggs are 'older' my main problem is an out of balance overall health and body.

If you have purchased herbs/tea from your acu, please share with me how much you paid. We live in a suburb where overall cost of living index is around 160 (vs 100 for national avg).

It has been a few years since I tried acu. The very first visit, he gave me a supplement (don't remember the name--little black balls) Anyway, he also gave me a small bag of tea. They told me it would taste badly, but just hold your nose and drink. I want a baby soooooo badly, I figured I would do anything. Well, I absolutely could not even drink the first cup. It was horrible. I am not sure if this is the same tea that your ACU wants you to buy, but I would hate to see you spend that much and not be able to drink it. I think I would ask for a sample first to see if you like it. And, personally, I think that is a crazy high price for any tea.

Thanks! Great advice to ask for a sample. I do have a hard time with stuff that tastes really bad; gag reflex kicks in...Yeah, the price is ludicrous. I think I will give it a go without the tea, even if I can stomach it, for a couple of months. Thanks!!
